Wow, I'm on a roll. Posting two stories in one day?

So inspiration for this came from the song Franklin by Paramore. I even have some of the lyrics incorporated into the story.

Disclaimer: I do not own Kingdom Hearts, nor do I own the song Franklin. Just this story.

We're back home. Destiny Island...I'd been wanting to come back here for long. I'd been travelling all sorts of worlds, looking for Kairi and Riku, so I could bring them home, and we could go back to normal. I remember when we got back here, actually, that I was so relieved, so happy to be back home, so I could finally get the normalcy I so craved.

However, being back...I'm itching to get out. Nothing feels the same. This place has changed.

Or maybe it's me that's changed.

I sit on the trunk of the tree in our normal spot, the place Riku, Kairi, and me always hang out at. I look out at the sea, which used to bring me such calm. It made me wonder what all was out there.

Now I know.

I want to explore it more.

It's not that I won't miss this place, if I ever get the chance to go out and see all the worlds again. I will miss Destiny Island...But it just doesn't feel like home anymore. I can't get used to being back, knowing I'm stuck here.

I hear someone walk up behind me. I don't bother looking. It's either Riku or Kairi; They're the only ones I really talk to anymore. In the corner of my eye, I see silver hair flying wildly as Riku jumps up to sit beside me. We don't say anything for a while. Finally, he says something that mimics my thoughts.

"It feels...Strange, being back, doesn't it? Like...We don't even belong here anymore." I nod, showing that I agree.

"Do you miss it, though?" I ask. "Who we were. Being able to call this place home." I add, clarifying what I meant. I see him shrug.

"It doesn't matter. Who we are is in the past. No one even knows who we are anymore." He responds after a moment. I flick my eyes over to stare at him, about to disagree, but how could I? I knew he was right. I move my gaze back over to the ocean.

"Riku?"

"What?"

"Could you remind me of a time...When we felt so alive?" I pause for a moment, then continue. "Do you remember that?" I think we both know the answer: It was a time when we weren't here. We glance up at each other, exchanging a look that tells me that he shares my thoughts.

"Sora! Riku!" We look back, seeing Kairi running up to us. We jump off our tree, meeting her half-way. She's holding a piece of paper. It's stamped with the seal of King Mickey. Riku and I look at each other, exchanging a smile.

Looks like we weren't home for long, after all.

Thoughts? I was actually rather proud of this one. So let me know what you think, how I could make it better, all that jazz.
