A warm sunny breeze blew through the trees above the steers of Odiaba and a twenty one year old Kari walked down the sidewalk. She wore long soft gray leggings with a soft pink T-shirt and white lace up sneakers. A pink should bag was slung over her shoulder. She came to a four way intersection and looked down at her digital watch that read 10 A.M. A car passed and she walked across the intersection. She looked up at tall apartment complex that stood a few blocks away. She smiled as a warm soft wind blew through her waist length mahogany hair. She walked up to door 3112 and knocked. The door opened and Davis's mother happily greeted her.
"Good morning Mrs Motomiya. Its nice to see you," Kari said.
"Good morning. Please come in," she welcomed Kari who stepped inside.
"My husband and I will be gone to my sister's. She broke her leg yesterday and she need our help getting around the house. We'll also be taking June with us," Mrs Motomiya informed.
"I see. Well I hope your," Kari started to say until she was suddenly cut off by a voice calling to her.
"Karwi lady," excitedly said a four and a half year old Davis who zoomed towards his her like a shot.
The little boy reached up and happily hugged her tight.
"Hi little guy. How are you," she asked looking down at him kindly.
"Miss Kari and I are going to need a minute to talk. Why don't you go help your father find his shoes," Davis's mother told him.
"No. No. No. No. Me wanna play with Miss Kari. Play. Play. Play," said Davis tugging on Kari's hand.
"Why don't get the blocks in your playroom ready little guy. It would make me very happy if you would," Kari said knelling down to him.
"OK," the child answered just before scampering off to his play room that was down the hallway.
"We'll be gone all day and won't be back till late. Now you have my number so you can call me if you have any troubles," Mrs Motomiya told Kari as she stood back up.
"I'm sure we'll be fine," Kari assured as Mr Motomiya walked up with and eleven year old June.
"I can't believe I have to spend all day at aunt Gabbys. Its so boring there. Its not unfair," June complained.
"Don't whine June. Your father and I need your help. Now stop complaining," her mother replied firmly.
"Its not fair. Just because Davis is a baby he gets out of going with us," June remarked unhappily.
"Davis is to little to go and your a big. So you don't need to stay behind," Miss Motomiya told her.
June sighed and rolled her eyes.
"Come on. We need to hurry or else we'll be late, Mr Motomiya said looking down at his watch.
"Bye. Drive save," Kari told them as the exited their apartment.
Kari slipped off her shoes and left them beside the door and walked to Davis's playroom where he sat stacking up a series of red green yellow and blue blocks. Upon seeing her Davis happily leapt to his feet and ran to her. Kari knelt down and hugged him tightly.
"Hello little guy. Its good to see you again. Ready to have fun," she asked.
Davis happily shook his head and grabbed her hand. He then lead her over to his blocks. Davis picked up a bright purple and blue stuffed T-Red that sat on the floor nearby and used it to show Kari how he knocked down the blocks.
"This is Super Rex. Isn't it. I seem to recall we played with him last week when I was here to sit you," Kari questioned.
Kari had been working as Davis regular baby sitter for sometime now.
"Super Rex is the best there is," the boy responded holding up the toy to her.
"I started sitting another little not to long ago. He likes Super Rex too. His name is TK," she informed.
"TJ," replied Davis.
"No. Silly. His name is TK. He's a little boy just like you," she said.
"GK," he answered.
Kari smiled and rolled her eyes before continuing to play with the Davis. They laid on the carpet floor together and played with Power Ranger action figures, blocks, Star Wars action figures, little green army men, and hot brown eyed female watched as Davis scooted his Kitt car from Night rider across the floor. He then put an action figure of Samus Arron on a little motorcycle and crashed her into Kitt. He then played with a monster truck toy and crashed it into Kitt and Samus. Davis then pulled out a stuffed light brown teddy bear.
"What's this," inquired Kari picking up a plastic doll of DJ Vinyl Scratch off the floor.
"That's my sister's toy. Sometimes her toys get lost in my playroom," the boy informed. "This is Wuzzy. Wuzzy and Super Rex love to battle,"
Kari set down Vinyl Scratch and picked up the stuffed dinosaur and pretended to fight with the bear.
"Two stuffed animals will battle but who will win this epic fight," playful asked Kari as she continued to lay on the floor with the boy.
They continued to battle the stuffed toy for a few more minutes.
"I have been defeated. Oh. Whatever shall I do," she teased placing the bear face down on the floor.
"I win," he exclaimed holding up the dinosaur.
Davis looked across the room and then was hit with an idea.
He leapt up and pulled a large dark blue plastic tub of multi-colored blocks to the center of the playroom and spilled them out on the floor.
"Lets build a castle Miss Kari," he told her stacking a yellow block on top of a red one.
Kari smiled and picked up a red block. They built a three foot long twelve inch high and two feet wide castle together. There was also a race track all around the castle.
"I wish I could play in a real castle," the boy lamented as he looked at their work.
Kari sat up on her knees and held him in her lap.
"And who says we can't play in a real castle. You can do anything when you pretend. When you believe," Kari told him.
Davis looked up at her in confusion.
She smiled at him and placed her hand over his eyes. She took her hand away and Davis found himself sitting with Kari on the floor of the castle they had just built. He sat up from her lap and looked all around in wide eyed wonderment. He looked down and sat that he was now wearing a medieval knights costume complete with a sword that hung form his side. Kari who now wore a long pink princess gown stood up and walked over to him.
"This is our castle Miss Kari," Davis joyfully stated.
"Yes. We're inside the castle Davis," Kari told him.
"Welcome one and all. Please come in and take seat. My name is Sargent green," said a army man who was dressed in a soil green uniform walking up to therm.
"Why hello there Sargent. Its nice to meet you," greeted Kari.
"Your my army man," Davis noted aloud while looking up at him.
"Indeed I am. All your toys are here Davis and we all wanna have fun with you," he told him.
"Wow! Lets go explore miss Kari," Davis said grabbing her by the hand and ran off with her through the medieval castle.
As Davis and Kari moved through the castle they saw Davis's Power Rangers sitting together around a round table eating donuts. The ran into the castle library where they past a wizard who had long gray and a long white beard with long blue robes on.
"Hi Merlin," said Davis as he zoomed past.
"Hello there Davis," he replied pulling a book off the shelf.
They then ran into the castle's kitchen where they was a team of white chef coat wearing men and woman working together on making dinner for everyone in the castle.
"What's for dinner tonight," inquired the boy as he slid to a stop before one of the woman who was pulling something out of the oven.
"Chocolate fudge cake with with warm caramel sauce," the woman responded leaning down and showing a fresh baked cake to him.
"Well that looks yummy. We can't wait to try some," Kari told her.
"It will be ready by dinner time," the woman kindly informed.
"Can we have some now," the four and a half year old questioned as he salivated as the sweet smell of the cake.
"You shouldn't eat cake before dinner. Now let go explore the rest of the castle together," Kari told him wanting to get his mind off of cake.
Davis excitedly dashed out of the kitchen with Kari in hand. They ran up a flight a spiral stairs to the top of the castle's north turret where they was two green dressed arm men stood guard.
"Hello there Davis," they greeted him.
"Hi guys," he responded as he ran with Kari back down the steps.
"Energetic kid," said the guard.
"That's our Davis," the other guard remarked.
Davis and Kari ran outside to the castle courtyard and found a long wooden rectangular shaped stable.
"What's that place," asked Davis.
A series of of Hot Wheels then rolled out of the stable one after the other and lined up in front of Davis and Kari.
"This is where the Hot Wheel live," said a voice from behind Davis and Kari.
Davis turned around and saw met by the sight of Wuzzy standing before him. Davis hugged the teddy bear who was the same size as he was.
"Do you wanna have a royal race," Wuzzy asked the boy.
"A race," questioned the child.
"Everyone in the castle will compete for the mystery prize," Wuzzy informed.
"Where do we race," asked Davis.
"Come with me and I'll explain everything," said the the teddy bear.
"Alright boys and girls ladies and genital men! Welcome to the first ever Royal Races," greeted a young princess Leia who stood in the center of a large black asphalt track with a gray microphone in hand. "Today our thirteen racers will compete for the mystery prize. Now whoever comes in first is the winner," the young woman continued.
"I be rooting for you," encouraged Kari who stood beside the racing pod from Star Wars Episode 1 that had Davis sitting behind the wheel.
"I can't wait. This is just like Mario Kart," Davis excited answered.
Kari went and took a seat in the packed standing beside Swap Thing and Iron Man.
Luke Sky walker who was in his X-Wing revved his engine. Mario who sat in his racing cart did the same. Donkey Kong who was at the back of the pack laid on the gas and revved the engine of to enormous brown monster truck. A male member of the castle guard who drove a green Humvee revved his engine. David Hasselhoff who sat behind the wheel of Kitt did the same. Samus Arron cranked the handle bard on her orange motorcycle and put on her blue helmet that matched her blue body suit. Fuzzy who was behind the wheel of a super powered green Sherman tank cranked his engine and got ready to hit the gas. There were many Hot Wheels and other cars trucks and motorcycles who all revved the engine in anticipation.
"The track stretches far around the castle and and is filled with twist turns hazards dangers and surprises of all kinds. Good luck to all our competitors and may the force be with you.
Davis put his googles down over his eyes put his hands firmly on the controls of his pod.
"Three two one GO," said Leia.
All the racers exploded off the start line with furious speed. The shot down the track and hung a hard right turn. Davis looked for away to break through as he sat in the back of the pack. Samus who was in the middle of group ran over a Question Mark Block and got a green turtle shell. It magically appeared in her hand and she threw it behind herself. One of the Hot Wheels with number eight painted on it hit the shell and slid wildly out of control. Number eight bashed into two other hot wheels.
"Oh! Looks like number eight. Number four and number three are out of the race folks," princess Leia said into her microphone as the race was displayed on a huge rectangular monitor that in front of them.
Davis zipped past the crashed racers and cruised over a Question Mark Block and a red mushroom materialized on the right side of his dashboard. He then came up behind Wuzzy's tank and tired to slip past him. The hung a left turn and Davis smashed his palm into the red mushroom on his dash causing his pod to go zooming past the tank in a short burst of speed.
"Sorry Davis but I gonna win this thing," said the bear pressing a button on the control panel next to him firing a shell at the rear of his pod.
Davis sharply swerved out of the way of the blast narrowly avoiding it. Wuzzy fired many more shot from his turret almost almost hitting Davis who narrowly skirted the blast.
"So Wuzzy you think you can blow me off the road do you? Then how about this," commented Davis as he whipped around a turn and skidded over a Question Block causing a gray ceramic clay jar to appear in his hand. He tossed in behind himself. The jar smashed opened on the road scattering hundreds of multi-colored marbles all around. The green tank spun around three hundred and sixty degrees and come grinding to a halt on the side of the track.
"And it looks like Wuzzy's chance of winning this race have gone spinning down the drain," Leia announced.
Davis raced along side Kitt and the X-Wing with Mario in front of them. Samus and Donkey Kong and the other Hot Wheels brought up the rear. The entered a tall white stone arc way that stretchered across the track and were teleported to a sunny warm sandy beach track.
"Alright! This must be the beach course from Mario Cart," Davis thought happily as he tried to get past Luke.
Mario cruised past a palm tree and dropped a banana peel a few feet in front of Davis. He jerked hard on his control sticks bashing into Luke beside him who knocked into Kit.
"Then lets show how we do things," David replied turning the wheel sharply and purposefully knocking into Luke.
"The force is strong with this one," said Luke as David presses the Turbo Bust on his control panel and blasted past them. He caught up with Mario and bashed into the side of his car into him.
"Mama mia," the plumber stated.
Davis continued to share blows with Luke as the made a long right turn. They hugged the turns and they engines thumb and pumped as they press hard on the gas. Davis narrowly managed to run his right tire over a Question Block gaining a yellow star that appeared in his hand. He smashed it into the dash of his pod causing his pod to flash wildly with yellow light. Davis swerved hard into Luke electrocuting his X-Wing and blowing him high into the blue sky.
"Wow! Its seems like Luke has been blow away. Who know where I'll land up I'm sure its far way," said Leia.
Luke's X-Wing came crashing down through the sky and landed hard in the swamps of Degeaba just outside Yoda's hut. The cockpit slowly opened and Yoda looked at him.
"I tried to win the race master," Luke told him.
"Do or do not, there is no try," Yoda responded.
Luke rolled his eyes and sighed.
The racers made a hard left turn and passed entered through a white stone archway that stretched over the track. They were all magical teleported to a snow covered track. Davis struggled to keep his pod steady as he slipped around on the ice. He hung a right turn and narrowly dodged a few small ice burgs that randomly dotted the track.
"I need to catch up," the little boy told himself as he watched Mario and Kitt battle for first place.
A green turtle shell then shot very closely past Davis's pod. He looked into his rear view mirror and saw Samus who fired another green shell toward him. He jerked the controls and evaded the on coming shell by only a hair. He watched as the shell crashed into the rear of Mario's cart knocking him from the race.
"Oh no folks. It looks like Mario is finished which putts Kitt in the lead with young Davis in second and Donkey Kong and Samus in third. Its a break neck race with no limits and way to tell who the winner will be," proclaimed Leia.
Samus eye's narrowed and she shot another green shell at Davis who again narrowly escaped.
Davis ran over a Question Mark block and a banana peel appeared in his hand. He threw out the side of his pod and ripped through a hard left turn.
"Nice try kiddo," Samus said dodging the peel and running over a Question Block causing a red turtle shell to appear on above her head. She grabbed the shell and cocked back her arm preparing to threw it. "The red shell is a heat seeker. No one has ever dodged it," she though as she began to threw the shell.
Boom! A loud explosion thundered.
"What," Samus gasped.
Donkey Kong threw a bob omb at her from inside his massive monster truck causing her to spin out and go flying off her bike. She stood up and knocked some snow off her unharmed body and sighed.
"And it looks like Samus is snow out of this race folks," Leia cheered.
"Yes. Go Davis go," Kari cheered as the crowd rooted and shouted in excitement.
Davis took a left then a right as he struggled to catch up to Kitt. Davis ran over a Question Mark Block and a red turtle shell appeared on his dashboard. He threw it towards Kitt and watched as time seemed to slow down as Kitt began to flash with a yellow light deflecting the shell.
"Oh and a nice save by Hasselhoff with Star Power," said Leia.
The Hot Wheels zoomed all around Donkey Kong who threw a banana peel out his driver side window knocking one of the car out of the race. He closed in on Davis and took a hard turn. He slid over a Question Block acquiring a Star for himself. He dropped in on the floor of his monster truck. He swerved his huge truck back and forth electrocuting the Hot Wheels knocking them all from the race.
"And the giant monster of a truck has just give the competition a hard shock," the princess exclaimed.
Davis slid around a right angle turn and passed over a Question Block and three green turtle shells appeared inside his pod. He then drove strait and passed through white stone arch way and was teleported to a gray stone track that saw surrounded by red lava.
"This must be Bowser's track," Davis thought.
Davis the took a right turn and sliding hard across the bricks bumping into the wall. The then drove down a long strait section of the track and threw one of his turtle shell at Kitt only to watch it slip just past him. He came to end of the strait away and took a sharp left turn and threw his second shell at the black car. Kitt swerved dodging the shell. Davis then laid hard on the gas and threw his last shell.
"David we have an incoming shell," Kitt told him.
"Don't worry kitt that kid will never hit from this range," he assured turning his steering wheel hard to the right only feel a something impact the side of his car.
"Kit! Whats happening," Hasselhoff asked as the car spun out of control.
"We've been hit sir," Kitt informed.
"Oh my! What a cleaver shot," stated Leia. "Lets watch that on instant replay shall we."
A small window appeared in the bottom left hand corner of the monitor showing Davis throwing his green shell at the wall bouncing it off the gray bricks hitting Kitt in his tail pipe.
Davis zoomed past Kitt and looked into his rear view mirror and his heart skipped beat as the monster truck closed in.
"It seems that Donkey Kong is closing the gap folk. What will Davis do," questioned Leia aloud.
"Kong! Kong! Kong!" Half the crowd cheered.
"Davis! Davis! Davis!" The other half yelled.
Donkey Kong's huge monster truck closed in and rammed into the rear of the child's pod. Davis swerved back and forth trying to lose the monster. Davis was then rammed hard from behind. Davis used all his might to whip a very hard left turn and slid over only to have Donkey Kong keep up with and bash him from behind once more. Davis then saw the finish line in the distance.
"Come on! Come on! Come on!" Davis thought as he came closer and closer to the finish line.
Davis was then hit hard from behind and was sent spinning out to the side of the track sliding across a Question Block as he did so.
"Oh no! Davis is in trouble folks! This might be the end for him," Leia commented.
"Sorry little man but looks like I'm the winner," said Donkey Kong sticking his head out the driver side window.
Davis then pulled out a yellow lighting bolt and threw it down on to the track causing the huge monster truck to spin around and shrink to be very tiny. Davis then slammed on the gas and raced towards the finish line.
"Sorry little man but the light bolt gives whoever uses it the power to shrink down and slow all the other racers on the track," the boy told him as he bumped into him form behind knocking him to the side of the track.
Davis then zoomed crossed the finish line and the crowd erupted with cheering and thunderously applauds. Davis and his pod were then magically teleported back to the race starting point. He jumped out of his vehicle and Kari ran to him.
"Davis! You did it! You did it," compliment Kari who picked him up in her arms.
Leia walked up to Davis and placed a gold metal around his neck.
"The winner of the Royal Race is Davis Motomiya," declared Leia declared. "Now for being the winner the prize you will receive is.
"A gold crown," the boy said looking into the open box hat Leia held in her hand.
"I princess Leia hereby proclaim that Davis in now king of the royal castle," she informed.
The crowd cheered in approval.
"My first order as King is that Kari will be my princess," the child said into Leia's microphone.
Kari hugged him tight and blushed.
"My first order as your new king is that a royal feast should be help inside the castle imminently and everyone is invited," said King Davis.
Everyone in the castle sat down together for the feast. All the castle guards maids Butlers gardeners and all of Davis's toys sat together at a long rectangular table that was draped by a lone white table cloth.
"So? What will I be feasting on tonight," inquired king Davis as he sat at the front of the table with Kari by his right hand side.
"My lord I present to you your chocolate cake," a female chef said lifting a silver lid off a silver platter revealing a chocolate cake with caramel sauce.
"Very good. Now be sure to bring some ice cream," the boy replied.
Everyone at the table received a slice of cake and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
"Long live king Davis," Wuzzy who sat next to Samus said lifting up a red plastic solo cup filled with fruit punch.
Luke Skywalker David Hasselhoff Donkey Kong Mario and everyone else at the table lifted the glass in Davis's honer. Once they all finished eating Davis order they all have a dance party in the castle ballroom.
"Hey DJ. Drop some wax and mix up the mix because its time to spin that beat," Davis told Vinyl Scratch.
Loud fast music blasted from the ballroom and everyone danced around like crazy nincompoops. Luke Skywalker showed off his break dance moves and Donkey Kong danced the Mash Potato. Mario and Wuzzy did the Twist. David Hasselhoff did the Macarena and Samus disco danced beside him. Davis stood with Kari in the center of the ballroom and danced hand and hand with her. Swamp Thing pulled out a beach ball and tossed it out among the crowd. Multi-colored confetti rained down from the ceiling. Everyone was having a great time.
Then a loud heavy booming noise the thundered outside the castle. The needle on DJ's turn table slid off the record and everyone sharply ceased dancing. The booming sounds came closer and closer to the castle. The ground rumbled and shook as the booming sounds now thundered just outside the castle. The ground stopped shaking and everything was quiet and still for a long moment. The roof of the ballroom was then torn off.
"Is this a royal dance party I hear? I can't believe no one invited me," asked Super Rex looking down into the ballroom.
"Do you wanna dance with us," asked Davis.
"No. No I don't," he responded.
Super Rex then spotted Kari.
"I want that one to be my queen," said the dinosaur who swiftly stuck his long tail into the ballroom and wrapped around Kari. Super Rex then quickly stormed away.
"No one steals princess Kari away from me. She's my girl," Davis boldly stated.
"Come on Davis let go get her back," Wuzzy told him walking up beside him.
"Yeah. Its time to battle for our princess," the little child said pulling out a broadsword sword out from nowhere.
Davis and Wuzzy ran to the front steps of the castle.
"Wait. Take this. It will aid you in battle," said Iron Man who flew up to them.
Then one after the other many pieces of red and gold pieces of armor come fly in out of nowhere and attached themselves to Wuzzy's body. Wuzzy then put his arm around Davis's shoulder and they threw off into the blue skies overhead.
"Welcome to the castle Doom," Super Rex told Kari who was still head by his tail.
Kari rolled her eyes and stuck out her tongue at him.
"Pout all you want princess but you will never escape from the castle tower," he informed placing her inside the castle's tower via a arch shaped window. "Thanos stand guard and be sure the princess doesn't escape," Super Rex told the dark purple skinned man that stood outside the castle gates.
"As you wish," he responded.
"Oh who will save me from this beast," questioned Kari.
"Have no fear princess. We're here to save you," boldly declared Davis as he flew in with Wuzzy.
"If you wanna get the princess then you have to go through me little man," remarked the huge dinosaur.
"I don't so. Inuk chuk," responded Wuzzy who grew to be as big as Super Rex.
"Your going down Barney," added Davis who sat on Wuzzy's right shoulder.
"Then let us battle," said Super Rex.
Super Rex and Wuzzy charged each other and engaged in a intense fight with one another. The traded heavy blows back and forth with one another for the next few minutes. Super Rex stepped back and shot a fire ball out of his mouth at Wuzzy. Davis pointed his sword that glowed with a white light causing a round shield to appear protecting Wuzzy from the bast. The shield vanished and a super duper rocket pack sprung up on Wuzzy's left shoulder. Super Rex was struck hard in the chest by a folly of rockets and countered by swiftly turning around and swiping Wuzzy in the ankles with his tail knocking his back to the ground. Super Rex and smashed his foot into Wuzzy's chest.
"Wuzzy use your laser cannon," instructed Davis.
The teddy bear lifted up his right arm and a massive gray laser blaster came from his wrist. A red laser blasted Super Rex knocking him back to the ground. They stood up and Wuzzy wanting to take the high ground activated his rocket boots and soared vertically into the sky. Super Rex fired many repeated fire balls at Wuzzy who easily dodged them. Wuzzy fires a series of laser blast as Super Rex who jumped out of their path.
"Thanos assistance," ordered Super Rex.
Thanos leapt in front of Super Rex and fired many energy blast from his infinity gauntlet. Wuzzy narrowly dodged the blasts only to be stuck in chest by a fire ball from Super Rex. Davis pointed his swords at Thanos and shot a white energy blast striking him in the chest and causing him to go sailing the the castle wall.
"The armor is heavily damaged. We can sustain flight for much long," Wuzzy informed.
"Then lets end this thing shall we," said Davis pointing his sword Super Red.
Wuzzy dived head first toward Super Rex with tremendous speed. Just before Wuzzy hit him Super Rex jumped up and landed feet first on him smashing him to the ground and knocking Davis from his shoulder to the ground.
"You fool. You think you defeat me. I am Super Rex and I can not be defeated," the purple dinosaur declared boldly.
"Don't worry Wuzzy. I'll help you buddy," said Davis throwing his sword at Super Rex striking him in the heart.
"I have been defeated," groaned Super Rex staggering backwards.
Davis and Wuzzy watched at the massive dinosaur fall back to the ground and turn into a cloud of brown dust. Wuzzy then returned to his normal size and his armor was gone.
"Don't worry Miss Kawi I'll save you," bravely said the four and a half year old as he and Wuzzy entered the castle through the hole in its side. They ascended up a long stone spiral stair case that lead to a wooden door. Davis pushed it opened and found Kari standing there. Davis ran to her and she picked him up in her arms and hugged him tightly.
"Davis your my hero," she told him.
"Come on lets get back to the royal castle to celebrate the rescue of Miss Kari," Wuzzy told them
"Don't celebrate just yet," Thanos warned as he stood in the doorway.
"Why you being such a meanie weenie," asked Davis.
"Yeah. What did we ever do to you," Kari questioned.
"Of course I mean. I'm the bad guy," Thanos retorted pressing the palm of his hand to a red button on the wall marked self destruct.
A huge explosion came from the base of the castle and before Wuzzy Davis or Kari knew what was happening they found themselves hurtling though the sky.
"Well this isn't good," said Wuzzy as they fell towards the ground.
The brown teddy bear landed on the floor near the sofa inside the living room. Davis who lay on top of Kari on the sofa yawned and slowly opened his eyes. He felt a soft warm pink blanket on top of himself.
"Hello there sleepy head. Did you have a nice nap," Kari said rubbing up and down on his back and stroked her long soft warm delicate finger through his hair.
"Wuzzy was battling with Super Rex," the child stated sheepishly.
"You had a dream little guy," she answered kissing his forehead.
"But we saved you," he remarked as she hugged him close pressing his head to her chest.
Davis hugged her tight and listened to her heart beat.
"Shhhh. Quiet little one," she said kindly.
Davis and Kari laid with each other for the next few minutes.
"You hungry," she questioned.
Davis looked up at and nodded. They went to the kitchen where Davis sat at the table. Kari made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for him and a salad for herself. She placed the sandwich in front of him and took a seat to his right. After they finished eating Kari took their plates to the sink and Davis dashed off the the living room. Kari went and joined him on the floor where he was playing with his monster truck. Davis showed her how he smashed his trucks together and how they rolled across the carpet.
"Trucks roll real good across the carpet Miss Kawi. Except when the floor is made of hot lava," he told her.
"Oh no. Hot lava," she remarked.
Hot lave then bubbled up from the center of the floor and quickly spread in all directions.
