"Sorry," Roxas had muttered, while walking past him in the halls. A little distantly, which wasn't much of a surprise, since he left the next day.
"Terribly sorry for your loss," Luxord had told him, right Demyx has lost to him in a game of Bullshit. Probably thought he was being clever.
"I'm sorry that we lost such a valuable member as VI." That was Saix. Uncaring bastard.
"Sorry," Xaldin had said in passing, not much caring behind the words.
"Sorry 'bout Zexion, kid," Xigbar had said. At least he seemed a little regretful.
"I'm sorry that you lost a member who you were particularly close with." Superior didn't understand. None of them did.
Sometimes, sorry wasn't good enough. It couldn't fix a broken toy, just like all the mothers said. And just the same, it couldn't fix a broken heart, especially one that didn't even exist in the first place.
