Story 1
Jose and the Magical Sombrero
Once upon a time there was a snake from Spain. This snake was named Jose. Jose loved to sing, but had a horrible voice. One day, Jose was slithering along, slither, slither, slither, when he slithered upon a sombrero. Jose was amazed when he put the sombrero on, because it fit on his small head. Jose's beady little eyes widened when he realized that the hat possessed magical powers!
The magical hat gave Jose the ability to sing with a beautiful voice! Since Jose got the sombrero, he decided to sing a happy tune everyday. Because he sang all of these happy tunes, the villagers began to question his sanity.
One day, Jon the roadrunner got sick and tired of Jose's relentless singing and made a plan to steal the sombrero. Anytime he caught Jose singing, Jon would glare at the snake and laugh evilly in his mind because Jose had no idea what was going to happen. Jon stroked his mustache that seemed to whip around his beak, even though there was no wind, and began adding even more evilness to his plot. Jon then ran as fast as he could back to his home. He grabbed his special pink gloves that he used for evil plans, and ran to find Jose.
After a while, Jon found Jose. He was slithering through a patch of wild flowers. Jon stood a few yards away before he ran as fast as he could and snatched the sombrero right off of Jose's head! Jose stared at nothing for a few seconds before he realized what happened. Jose slithered after Jon, but the roadrunner was faster than him.
Jose chased Jon relentlessly, but never caught him. Jose was about to give up, when he saw a deep ditch. Jose smiled evilly as he formed a plan.
Jose began to chase Jon faster until the ditch was in the path Jon was running in. Jose then chased Jon into the hole! Jon yelped as the sombrero flew off his head and he fell into the ditch.
"Ha ha! Loser!" Jose shouted as the hat landed in front of him. Jose smiled and placed the sombrero back onto his head.
Then, Jose began to slither away, into the sunset, ignoring Jon's cries and pleads for help.
