Based on a picture that I saw on Tumblr, I think you can guess what this fic is about. It's short though.
This might break your heart. The keyword is might.
King Agdar broke through the surface of the water, gasping for air. He looked around, desperate to find something to cling onto. The storm had completely ripped apart the boat, with broken pieces of wood scattered throughout the ocean. The storm had died down considerably, but it was still raining & the sky was still dark, a clear sign that the storm wasn't over yet. He didn't see any of the crew members, but he did see one person in particular, making his heart sink when he realised who it was.
Idunn.
He swam to her, calling her name over the crashing of thunder. She didn't respond, making him panic. He reached her, taking her into his arms.
'Idunn!' he shouted. 'Please, wake up,' he pleaded.
He surveyed the ocean, looking for something to lean on. He spotted a few planks of wood, & made his way over to them, his wife in his arms.
He reaches the plank, placing the queen on top. He begins to panic when she doesn't stir.
'Idunn! Wake up!'
He gently shook his wife, tears beginning to form in his eyes. There was a large crack of thunder, making him look up. He saw a large wall of water coming towards them, knowing that the end was coming. He turned back to his wife, who hadn't stirred.
'Please wake up. Please...' he pleaded, tears threatening to spill over.
He gently shook her, hoping that it wasn't too late. He glanced up at the rapidly approaching wave, then back down to the queen. He didn't have much time left.
He began to pray. He prayed that Elsa would be able to control her powers someday. He prayed that his daughters would be able to reunite after all these years.
He prayed they could find forgiveness for both he & his wife.
As he prayed, he saw his wife stir out of the corner of his eye. He looked up, & saw the queen was regaining consciousness. She weakly opened her eyes to see her husband on the verge of crying.
'Agdar...' she said weakly.
'Idunn,' the king said. 'I-I-'
'Sh,' she said gently. 'Don't speak,'
The wall of water was almost upon them. Agdar looked at his wife for the final time.
'I love you,' he said.
'I love you too,' she said as the wave engulfed them.
