Author's Note: Hello everyone! This is my first story on fanfiction. Please excuse any details that are incorrect, and if so I would love it if you could tell me any so I can correct it/them! Enjoy!
Prologue:
Chiron always had trouble with stairs. It wasn't just that he disliked them or that he was fat, the trouble was caused by the fact that he was half horse. That was why all the long flights of stairs in Camp Half-Blood had been replaced by a long (but obviously not steep) ramps, which he had no trouble at all climbing. Why do I even need to come up here? If the Oracle wants to give me a message so badly, instead of telling me to go to see her in a dream, why not just tell me the message in the dream?
Finally Chiron reached the top, and proceeded to enter. Come forward, Chiron, and hear what you need to hear. The Oracle's voice spoke firmly, but with no detectible emotion. Chiron stepped forward. "I believe you have some information for me, great Oracle" I do, don't you worry about that.
The echoes of rushed horse clops could've been heard by any one of the campers, exempt they were all out playing capture the flag. The Oracle's prophesy continued to replay again and again in his mind. The Oracle didn't lie, but how could it be true? A half-blood shall rise; the child is not a demi-god yet not a full god. If this hero is left alone, countless monsters will swarm the country, and do more than a slight prod.
If Chiron had not been so stressed, he would have wondered why the Oracle didn't just say it like "Hey Chiron, how are things? Anyway a new half-blood has been born that isn't half god or full god. Funny right? But if you don't find the child in time, monsters will attack the entire nation." That would make things much simpler.
A child with a god or goddess parent, and something else. It had to be a human, because the Oracle had referred to the child as a half-blood. Sweat formed heavily on Chiron's brow. If that was true, why was the child not a regular half-blood? He had to find the child, before it was too late.
