"So, why are you here?"
The raven just shrugged his shoulders. His friends walked towards him and gave him a gentle pat. He walked inside and sat on the couch. His family's bickering was really something this time. He just threw his bag on his bed and walked out from the house.
"How's Rogue?"
"Hm? He's fine. The last thing I know is he is still inside his room to keep him from any disaster from our parents."
"Is that so? Juvia's worried."
"Don't worry. He's strong enough to endure the pressure."
"Heh… you're such a determined big brother," said Natsu. He slung his arm on Gajeel's shoulder. Gajeel just shrugged from his friend's touch.
"What? You must be kidding. Me?! With that gloomy boy?"
"You're so cruel for your own little brother," said Gray beside him. As the host, Loke brought some soft drinks for his guests. His menacing eyes scanned the room for one little figure.
"How's your brother?"
"I'm here and all of your talks are about my brother?"
"Are you still mad on him? Juvia know that Juvia didn't have any sibling. But he is just a seven years old boy. He still need any love from his family."
"Whatever you say…"

Some years later….
"Ohayou…"
"Hn."
Gajeel looked at his younger brother. Same face, same emo expression. But at the same time, he could see any 'spirit' left in his younger brother's eyes. It's good for two boys with their harmonic parents outside and bickering parents outside.
Peoples said that brothers can support each other. But how could you get those when your 'longest' conversation is 'Good morning' in every breakfast time. They kept their distance (Gajeel believed that his brother just a shy person towards him) and peoples said that they support each other?
In different occasion, Gajeel would gave his constant watching for his brother just to make sure that his brother save outside his room. Say thanks for Gajeel's brothership instinct (people said like that but Gajeel doubted it).
But when his brother took a time inside his room, Gajeel believed that his job as a big brother was done. He didn't know what's Rogue doing inside his room but he can be sure that Rogue's room is the safest place for the said person.
The reason was Rogue always hide inside his room when something unexpected is going to happen. The last time Rogue tried to separate his parents from punching or abusing each other, he got a bleeding scratch on his head from an alcohol bottle.
From that time, Rogue just brushed off any bickering and trying to comfort himself inside his room. He tried to convince himself that his family is like another family.
Like another family….
Why Gajeel know these things?
The things about his little brother?
Because he is the big brother after all.
