Okay, I'm not necessarily an UlquiorraxOrihime fan, so if that's what you're looking for this may or may NOT be the story for you. There really is no love or affection displayed in this story, it's all lust. I'll probably be posting some UlquiorraxGrimmjow stories in the future, because if Ulquiorra is going to be in an affectionate relationship, it's definitely going to be with Grimmjow. So I apologize to all of the Inoue fans out there...hopefully you'll enjoy this anyway...
Uhm, this whole story takes place while Inoue is being held hostage by Aizen because in my opinion this was the best Bleach arc.
Orihime stared at the pale stars outside her barred window. The infinite night was becoming a metaphor for her hope of her friends returning to the real world alive. She hated them for coming after her. They were all going to get themselves killed and she would have to live with that burden- she would grieve over them knowing she was the reason they were dead. But she hated herself even more. She wasn't strong enough to stop them…she wasn't strong enough to protect them. But she had to believe that they would make it. She needed hope that they would survive.
Just a few more days without eating and she would never burden anyone again…
"They're not dead yet"
A cold voice came from the doorway as Ulquiorra stepped into the room, followed by a tray full of food.
"They've lasted longer than I anticipated"
Orhihime couldn't bring herself to turn towards him. She shuddered every time she heard his voice and tears came to her eyes when she looked at him. His very presence was enough to make her go insane.
"…but if they continue to look for you they will be killed."
Ulquiorra approached Orihime; he sensed her fear of him. He despised how weak she was.
"I'm merely trying to spare you later grief. Hope carries no promises."
"Stop…" Orihime whispered, cocking her head slightly but still looking down. She folded her arms around her. She could feel the moisture building in her eyelids. Ulquiorra remained silent yet still advanced on her. She stumbled backwards with each step that he took towards her but she found herself against the wall as Ulquiorra drew closer. She gripped her sleeves tighter.
"Please…please…" she begged. She was trembling uncontrollably. The weight of Ulquiorra's gaze was crushing her as he placed his hand over her mouth.
"Words will get you nowhere. We did not bring you here to converse with. It was expected that your friends would come after you but it doesn't pose a threat to us. They may as well die sooner rather than later. Just don't forget your place here. You have no say in what goes on, woman. You're nothing but trash."
He slowly lowered his arm and returned it to his side as he briskly turned to walk away.
"Eat something soon or I'll have to force it down your throat." He added as he moved towards the door.
"I can't…"
Ulquiorra stopped. Orihime couldn't contain her tears any longer. She was sobbing hysterically. He turned his head slightly to look at her as she continued.
"I can't….believe that they'll die…I…I have nothing else to….to live for…."
Ulquiorra was upon her once again, his face drawing near hers. He gently placed his hand upon her throat and Orihime nearly stopped breathing. She was shaking violently as Ulquiorra ran his tongue along her jaw line, licking the salty liquid off her face. Then he brought his lips close to her ear and she could feel the coolness of his breath as he spoke.
"You live only for Aizen now. Your life has no meaning beyond that."
With that Ulquiorra left Orihime in the darkness, no longer able to stand, she slid down the wall to the ground and lay there, silent tears streaming down her face.
