The moon was full and bright and a black fox sat watching over a town. "Wont be long now soon the last light will go out then I can go get what is mine." She thought to herself as she slowly made her way down to the gates of the town, her emerald green eyes glowed softy in the moon light. "Yeah it is here good now I don't have to keep looking for it." She said quietly to herself as she sniffed the air. Shifting back to her two legged form. The only sign that she was a fox were a set of black fox ears and a fluffy black tail. She wore a simple black shirt and short black skirt perfect for blending into the shadows.

Taking a deep breath she walked out of the shadows and over to one of the buildings.

"Can I help you Ma'am this area is off limits" The guard at the front gate said stoping her in her tracks.

"Oh I am so sorry, I was just wondering the woods when I saw all the light and well my curiosity got the better of me." She said sweetly. As she walked up to him and lightly trailed her fingers down his chest. Before he could say another word she knocked him out with a quick blow to the head. "Men." She said as she reached down and grab the keys hanging on his belt. After a few moments she finally stood outside the door that held her prize.

"You really are the most beautiful vixen in the world." A voice purred from behind the door. "Midnight are you going to open the door now or do I have to beg?" The voice asked.

"What do you think? I didn't come all this way to let you rot your too valuable to me Yoko." Midnight said as she unlocked the and opened the door. Out stepped a man that like her had fox ears and a tail, except his was silver and his eyes were golden he was dressed in white.

"You know this would be the second time you busted me out of jail." Yoko said as the two of them walked out of the prison.

"Actually it's the the fourth time you just don't count the first time we met or that time you let yourself get caught so you could steal a ruby from one of the guards." She said as she playful punched his shoulder. Once outside they both shifted into foxes and ran off into the night.

Once they were safely away from the prison they stopped and began to walk to cool down.

"I hope whatever you were looking for was worth it." Midnight said as they continued to head back to their hide out.

"Well it was but it turned out that a mystical gem that could grant your heart's desires. Was either not store there or was a trap set to catch thieves like me." Yoko started as he watched Midnight turn her head. "I know what your thinking and your wrong. You are my heart's desirer. I only wanted the gem so that we could use it to find the person who took our families from us." He finished before licking her ear reassuringly. They both fell into a comfortable silence until they reached a small cave deep in the forest. They both squeezed through the small opening and followed a short tunnel that opened up into a large cavern, that was lit by huge roaring fires, the sound of laughter filled the cave. "WELCOME BACK MY LORD AND LADY" everyone in the cave shouted once the two of them shifted back.

"Ok settled down there is no need to shout that every time we come back. Honestly." Midnight said as they both wonder into the crowd and began to join in the festivities. Midnight couldn't help but let her mind wonder back to what was said in the forest on the way here. "Do I really still want revenge? I know that no one here is blood family, but dose that really matter in the end?" Midnight thought to herself before she retired for the night.
