"Hah' I still remember my first day of boot camp," were the first words I heard out of Commander Ackart's mouth, as well as the last.

Chapter 1

introduction

The room stunk of testosterone pumped meat heads who looked like they were straight out of lockdown. Though I cant say I was any different, they pulled me straight out of the can and gave me a choice, either return to New Folsom for another fifteen to life with no chance of parole or try my luck at the whole soldier thing. Looking back I probably made the wrong decision.

"Sit down and shut you mouths" cried the loudspeaker

"Shut the fuck up, I don't take no orders from no loud speaker" cried some poor bastard a few feet to the right of me.

His yelling was followed by a deafening crack and then silence, as the lieutenant stepped on stage with his pistol drawn. I looked in shock as the man fell into a heap on the floor, one hole through to the back of his head.

"Now ill say it one more damn time" barked the lieutenant "shut the fuck up, and stand at attention" the lieutenant holstered the smoking handgun which had been used to fell the former criminal a few feet from me. The lieutenant snapped so tight into position it looked like his legs were going to combine into one.

Then the man who was going to make sure the next six months of my life would be hell walked into the room. The lieutenant introduced him as Commander Ackart. He was clad in a fine grey suit it had thin dark vertical stripes and shoulders that were much too pronounced. He had a short red beard to match his combed red hair. His face was old and mottled, and had many scars from his countless years of service for the UED.

Ackart scanned us over and laughed "hah' I still remember my first day of boot camp, and either we aren' doing our job or you fecks are learn'n to behave, 'cuz I only spot one dead feck in the lot of ya'. Well don't get used to it i'm willin to bet by tha end of these six months half of ya' arseholes wil either be dead and those of ya' who are still breathin will be wishin ya' were"

After that he turned and left the room and the lieutenant ordered us all to head to the barracks.
