I was sitting there when you said it. I thought that I, myself, was dreaming but I knew that wasn't possible. "Edward." You said it again. If my heart could beat I know it would have stopped right then. I stopped looking out the window and stared at your beautiful face. You were so peaceful, so vulnerable. At that moment I realized I had fallen in love with you, and it excited me, until I remembered what I was.

Alice's vision of you being one of us flashed into my head. I knew that if I had ever thought that I would be okay with it, then I wouldn't be near you. Every time your chest would raise and fall I remembered that you were human and would never be anything else if it was up to me. My eyes moved up to your eyes, stopping at your creamy throat for only a second. Your cheeks were pink even in slumber. I never used to be a fan of the color pink, but now if the whole world were that shade of pink I wouldn't complain. As I breathed in your scent caught and I knew that as long as you were alive with me I could resist your blood.

After I went home around sunrise, I couldn't get you out of my head. When I was with you, I never felt like a freak. Even now, you're the one who gets me through all the bad memories and problems to come. You really are my angel. Emmett once said "So you see, Hell's not so bad if you get to keep and angel with you." I finally knew what he meant.

Every time I'm around you, I feel like a boy who loves a girl, not a monster. And even though I don't have what science calls a heart, there is this place in my chest, and my head, and every other fiber of my being that only thinks of you. I only wish I could explain in words the amount of love I have for you.
