AN: I've totally fallen in love glee_angst_meme and glee_fluff_meme. This particular prompt is from the fluff_meme, and makes me smile when I read over my story. I don't think I did Papa Bear!Burt very well, but I tried. Also, bonus points if you can guess which little boy is antagonizing Kurt. Like it's a hard guess! I take personal prompts, so if you want, feel free to PM me.

Prompt: Little!Kurt being his regular, fabulous self and Burt getting all Papa Bear on some parents who are less than kind about it.
Because there needs to be more Burt in fic, yes there does.

The little six year old boy was sitting on a swing with a doll on his lap, talking to an Asian girl with long, dark hair. "The baby is pretty," he told her, smiling wide and showing off his dimples. "Thank you," the girl replied. "I'm Tina." Their parents were sitting together and talking, and Burt was keeping one eye on his son. He knew that some people lacked tact, and he wanted to protect the little brunette boy from that as long as possible. "I'm Kurt," the boy told her proudly, holding out a small, pale hand. She looked at it in confusion.

"You're supposed to shake it," he said patiently, taking her opposite hand, grasping it, and shaking it firmly. She laughed. "That's a funny way to say hello. My mommy just does this." She kissed him on the cheek and he wrinkled his nose. "Why would she do that?" Tina shrugged. "I don't know, but she always says 'I love you' after. I love you Kurt." Kurt's grimace turned into a smile. "I love you too, Tina!"

"Kid's already gay," someone muttered from somewhere behind Burt. "He's holding a baby doll." Another person said, louder, "He isn't going anywhere in life." Someone else, "Yeah he is. Hell."

And then a little boy went past Burt and over to his son and said something that made Kurt's blue, blue eyes widen and fill with tears. Tina stepped on the boy's foot, and he howled. Standing, Burt hurried over, closely followed by Mr. and Mrs. Cohen-Chang. They scolded Tina for her abuse to the boy. He had run off to his father, who had been standing behind Burt and was one of the men making comments.

"He called Kurt a faggot, Mommy," Tina protested. Kurt looked at Burt with wide, sad eyes. "He said I should be ashamed. Daddy, what's a faggot?" Burt's heart broke, and he grabbed Kurt's hand, pulling him towards the gaggle of parents watching in disdain. "Bye Tina," his son called out, receiving a wave and a big smile in return. He stood in front of all of them, turned Kurt to face them and snarled, "Do any of you want to know why this little boy is in tears?"

They had the good grace to look ashamed, and avoid his eyes. "Because someone told their son to call him a faggot. Six years old, by the way, and you people are judging him. Judging a six year old. How can you people teach your kids to hate someone for being an individual? You should be ashamed of yourselves." His cold anger was somehow worse than if he had started to scream at them. Burt Hummel was a big, beefy man. When he spoke, you took notice. He gathered Kurt up in his arms and carried the boy to the car, instructing him to buckle himself in. "Daddy? What did that word mean?" Kurt asked, all big blue eyes and innocence. "Nothing you need to worry about, Kurt. It doesn't matter what they say," Burt answered gruffly, turning the key in the ignition.
