It was a historical day.

And not because of Obama's inauguration.

"Sign right here Massie," Alicia uttered, the handed off her burgundy Montblanc pen.

Massie Block handed off her alpha spot to Alicia Rivera, the new alpha of the Mani-Pretties.

"There, I signed your stupid contract Alicia. You are now alpha for the entire year." Massie said, then slid the contract across the maple table.

She was sick of trying.

Sick of losing.

Sick of having to reinvent herself.

"I just want to be under no pressure for an entire year, and not care about my popularity for once."

So she gave it all up for an entire year.

I, Massie Block, give my alpha spot to Alicia Rivera here-say these terms:

I. I will act like a normal person.

II. I will treat my peers respectively, like an LBR should.

III. I shall never rule as I did before; I shall not care what others think.

IV. I shall not try to take my alpha spot back before the year term is over because of 'cold feet'.

V. I will not reinvent myself; I will act as if Alicia Rivera is the true alpha.

But her carefree act didn't work.

"Ehmagawd, Massie is sooo cool! What did she do?"

"I know she is sooo alpha!"

"I love the way she is so laid-back. Totally cool."

It just put her back on top even higher than she was before.

"And Prom Queen is... Massie Block! She is the first-ever peer-nominated sophomore Prom Queen EVER!"

And it gave her a chance with the boy she'd always wanted.

"Hey Massie," Josh smiled.

"Josh, aren't you supposed to be kissing Alicia's ass or something?" Massie sniffed.

"No, she is too bossy. I've always liked the laid back type."

Make that boys with a capital 'S'.

"Hey, Massie wanna meet for dinner?" Derek asked.

"Massie!" Cam yelled up to Massie's window, "Massie, I really, really like you!"

"Hey," Plovert smiled, "That was really cool of you. He should do something sometime."

"Massie, come on," Harris grinned, "You know you want me."

What will Alicia do?

What will the Mani-Pretties do?
