Author's Note: This is what I think would've happened if Edward had died in the second book. I'm hoping I'm accurate in the Volturi attacking, if not let's just pretend that something else happened to make them attack. So yeah...
Warning: The first half was written like two years ago, so the first part is eh, but the other half I think is fairly good, so beware.
Disclaimer: I do not own Twilight, and if I did I would be super rich and famous/infamous.
I could feel my body slowly dying. Tears formed in my brown eyes, as the falling sensation prepared me for pain that would come.
"You have to leave before they come!" Alice whispered in a high pitched voice. I wanted to stay, to fight like the rest of them. I knew if Edward were here he wouldn't let the thought cross my mind, even though he wouldn't be able to hear it. Ignoring Alice, I ran towards Carlisle; a deep, threatening growl came out of his chest. I paused for a moment. "Leave now," His perfect voice was a frightening sound. I ran.
I saw my life flash before my eyes. Edward's perfect eyes stared at me. A pleading look was frozen on his perfect face. I willed myself to reach out my hand to touch his cool face.
I strained my neck to look behind at the destruction. Too many things happened at once; Jasper was fighting, losing, a dark force glinted in the moonlight and Jasper's large figure was down in a second. Alice's high-pitched scream echoed through my head. Tears were falling down my face. I let my face brighten to shade of a cherry, and my eyes turn red and puffy. I watched with blurry vision and helplessness as Alice ran to Jasper's side. I feared the thought of Jasper dying and of Alice knowing it before hand.
I had to keep running, I had to get away. The sight that I left behind was too much for me to handle. I wondered why I wasn't dead. Why I was even born to begin with, all of it threatened my collapse, and yet I still ran.
I moaned with exhaustion as my floppy hands fell. Crash! My body went limp, I felt paralyzed; I probably was paralyzed. It was dark and I willed myself to find I something... anything. Sleep drifted across me. "No," I slurred. I knew I was dying, and Edward's pleading voice echoed through my head."Bella, no! Fight Bella! Bella!"
The urge to look back slowly found itself in the front of my mind. I stopped for a moment and looked back at the fire blazing in the distance. A scream choked my throat. I stopped breathing as a vampire threw me over the cliff. "Help," I thought, seeing death through my frightened eyes.
