(A/N: Post BD. I think that's it in the way of author's notes…enjoy!)
Arrival
Jacob didn't return.
Leah didn't think he would, but that tiny strand of hope kept holding on to the crazy idea that he might come back.
He didn't, of course; it was too painful for him to be away from Renesmee. There was one night that he fought it, and found Leah. But he couldn't fight for very long. Soon the pain took over his mind and he'd had to find Renesmee again.
Leah had watched him grow smaller and smaller as he walked away from her, knowing he wouldn't be back but wishing he could stay forever.
It wasn't too bad, being alone. Leah was used to it.
Still, it felt nice to know that someone cared about her, enough to fight the imprint, even if it was only for a few hours.
"Leah?" A voice calls out her name, making her jump.
When she realizes who it is, tears of happiness stream out of her eyes, and her face hurts from smiling so much.
"Jacob," she whispers. "You came back."
