Her helmet gleamed in the passage between worlds, shielding the sweat covered face behind it. Black clad hands grasped the handles tightly as Aqua leaned forward, the speed of the keyblade going faster with her actions. The world in front of her seemed to grow closer as she advanced, small details becoming visible to her eyes.
But she didn't pay attention to this. Her gaze lingered on the grand building in the middle with its pillars rising high into the dark space. Where the damage was being done. Her teeth gritted together and she sped forward at a rate unknown to her.
Hang on Zack!
The light seemed to overcome the dark as the buildings came into reach and Aqua quickly steered past the oddly shaped towers, trying to get to her destination. But the last turn seemed to catch her off guard and she collided with the tan colored brick, her body flying off her keyblade but her hand clutching the handle as it transformed back to normal.
Her breathing was irregular but she paid it no heed as she ran forward, her keyblade extended toward the oncoming Unknown. They were by the thousands, obviously controlled by Vanitas but he was nowhere to be seen.
"Coward." She muttered under her breath before slashing into each one continuously, advancing toward her destination.
"Zack!" Her yell was muffled when a small creature had appeared out of nowhere and jumped on her, successfully making her collide with the concrete. Bones cracking could be heard and she grimaced softly before kicking it off with her covered foot and slashing at the black creature. Turning around, she readied herself for the massive amount behind her but her eyes widened.
Aqua could see him. He was struggling. Slashing at the immortal creatures with his useless weapon. Wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, he looked up and smirked. But it quickly disappeared as he dodged an attack, bending on his knees as a weapon was slashed above his head.
Her eyes widened at the sight and she leapt forward, advancing quickly through the Unknown. But with each step they only multiplied, stopping all access to him. Her hand clutched her heart as magic overtook her, unleashing a power only a spell caster could handle. The flying keyblade circled her in a fluid movement, eliminating at least twelve but it was not enough. They kept on replacing the ones she had already taken care of.
A struggled gasp of breath could be heard and she immediately looked up only to wish she hadn't. Unknown had surrounded him as well and all attacked at once, striking Zack with a blow that no human could withstand.
She watched as he seemed to slowly fall onto the ground, the sword at his hand loudly falling beside him. Tears welled in Aqua's eyes as she struggled forward, a cry escaping her lips and the enemy's hands gripped her tightly. She struggled to break free but it was no use. There was to many of them. All she could do was let her scream overtake the area and her tears to fall freely.
"Zack!"
