Crossroad Blues
xXx
The lone man walked through the gathering snowfall on the outskirts of Detroit, footsteps muffled by the silvery powder that had settled overnight upon the chilly city.
December had fallen, and still no sign of the moonstone. There was talk of Katerina, but only mere whispers that turned out to be false.
Quite the annoying young girl she was becoming.
Klaus glanced up a little as the sky began to darken once more, the clouds heavy with snow. He sighed a little, fastening up his black buttons on his coat as he walked on, the first flakes falling around and into his short blondy brown hair.
Sure, the cold didn't bother him too much, but there was that instinct that came with every living and, well, un-living, if that was a word, to get warmer.
Thousands of years of evolution could never erase that. Not even from him.
Now his eyes flickered to the young woman walking past with the soft pink umbrella. It wasn't just the petite blonde beauty he was looking at, but the umbrella. But it was pink.
Even psychotic evil didn't want to carry a pink, very frilly and feminine umbrella around.
But damn, even evi-
He never got his thought properly formed as something cold and wet hit him on the side of his face, making him scowl and turn as the little human boy say.
"Sorry sir! You should have moved!"
Klaus now raised an eyebrow, rubbing the cold from his cheek, then bent down to the snow covered grass and scooped a handful of the slush into his hand, turning it into a snowball and smirked at the boy.
"Catch." he said, then chucked it at the boy, where it it him in the chest and sent him back a few meters. Now Klaus turned away with another little smirk.
Human children. Such little pains.
Wham-!
His head jolted forwards now as another snowball hit him, this time on the back of his head, soaking his hair.
Now, with narrowed eyes, he turned and saw the boys elder sister glaring at him. "You're a big bully mister!" she said to him.
Klaus just scoffed and turned away, too cold and wet to bother killing the little brats.
As he returned to the house they were currently holed up at, he slammed the door a little hard, making Greta look around the doorframe of the kitchen and frown.
"What happened to you?" she said as she saw his rather bedraggled form and soaked with slush hair. He just stopped dead and growled
"You better snap your fingers, witch up and sort my hair out now."
