Strawberry Patch

Ch. 1

As I slowly opened my eyes, I looked out the window from my bed, noticing it was lightly raining. I sat myself up straight, and yawned, trying to wake myself up. I flopped out of bed, and put on some clothes, consisting of my light blue top and dark blue skirt with some knee high socks, to start off the day right. I sprinted down the stairs as I noticed Cake, sitting on the couch playing BMO. "Morning Cake! What are you doing?" I asked trying to make small talk. "Oh, morning Fionna. I'm just playing on BMO. Are you going to do anything exciting today?" just as I was about to answer, I heard a knock at the door. "Hold on a minute." I casually said, walking over to the door. I looked out the window and noticed it was my friend, Marshall Lee, The Vampire King. Marshall Lee was one of my best friends, and it always brought a smile to my face when I saw him. I even might've had some feelings for him, a little more than a friend, even though I knew that would never happen. He was older than me, and I knew he didn't feel the same way I did... I opened the door to let him in. "Hi Marshall. What are you doing here?" I asked, trying to sound normal. "Oh, hey Fionna. I thought I'd stop by to see if you were busy today. I thought we could maybe do something." He was wearing his normal red plaid short, and his sexy skinny jeans. I always loved seeing him. It brought butterflies to my stomach. "Sure, what did you have planned?" "I thought we'd go down to the strawberry patch and pick some fresh ones, since I knew how much you love them." He said, giving a light smirk. "I'd love to go with you." I said quickly glancing around. "One minute, I have to go get my backpack." I said, turning around and heading up the ladder to the upper part of the tree house. As I looked for my light green pack, I heard Cake start talking to Marshall Lee. I walked closer to the opening, to eavesdrop on their conversation. "So, Marshall, I heard there is a certain lady you've been thinking about. Anything you want to tell me?" I heard Cake say. What does she mean by that? "What are you talking about?" Marshall said, stuttering with his words. "You know exactly what I mean. You like her. I know you do. You might as well tell her. It's pretty obvious." I wanted to stop the conversation, so I quickly grabbed my backpack, and headed back down. "Hey, I'm ready to go." I said casually, trying my best to act like I didn't hear anything. "Cake would you like to come with us?" I said. "Oh no, thank you dear, I think you two should spend some time together." She said, lightly smiling, with that cat smile of hers. "Okay, I'll be back in a few hours." I said. "Ready to go?" "Yep." He replied, and held open the door for me. I walked out as he led the way to the strawberry patch, and thought about what Cake was talking about.
