He saw her from across the room

His heart was beating fast

She looked at Him and gave a grin

His look told her she passed

They started talking quietly

The words He said were few

But she didn't need words to know

That His love was true

When His friend saw her

They laughed and sneered and jeered

He gave them a look that shut them up

It almost made them scared

The time would come

The time would go

Little winks and nods

Their love would grow

Most of His friends grew to love her

They decided she was one of their own

But one of them was cruel and cold

Mocked her and from the stairs she was thrown.

She fell and twisted her ankle

He saw her wince with pain

He ignored His friend and helped her up

Made her feel better all the same

He sharply rebuked His friend

Told Him he was cruel

"You'd better learn your lesson now," He said

"Lest you learn it OLD SCHOOL"

She soothed Him and calmed Him

And told Him it was alright

She rubbed His head and shoulders

And He slept through the night.

Three days later the day came

When they were to ride to town

He was settled on His 1ass

She walked beside Him feeling weary and down

He saw that she was tired

And hopped off quick as a wink

He knew it was a long walk

And there was nothing in which to think

He helped her up upon the ass

And the ride to town was complete

When they got there she was fine

But he had aching feet

Everyone cheered her

For she was the one on the ride

He looked at her with love

And smiled at her with pride

For a moment He forgot

What the future soon would hold

Just looking into her eyes

Could melt anything that is cold

It was clear He loved her

And clear she loved Him too

Whilst He was going through His troubles

Only her love could see Him through

Tell me how you feel tonight

They asked Him mockingly

He felt absolutely fine

For he was looking into eyes bluer then the sea

The words He said though weakly

He said strong and clear

For through her love

He overcame His fear

What seemed like forever later

They finally met again

In a world that knows no hate
