It was yet another beautiful day in the Great Demon Kingdom. The sun shone all across the country, and warmed the palace inside and out. Conrad and Yuri were walking down a hallway towards Gwendal's office, with the young king asking his godfather for more advice on how to deal with his rather annoying fiancée. They finally approached the set of wooden doors leading to Lord von Voltaire's office, but before Conrad could politely knock, Gwendal's voice boomed loudly, startling both the Maou and his guardian.

Gwendal: "Günter, it's too tight—you need to loosen up!"

Günter: "I'm trying my best! This is my first attempt at this, you know!"

Gwendal: "Well, you're the one who approached me, so you'd better make this worth my while."

Günter: "But I'm sure you weren't exactly an expert during your first time, Gwendal."

Gwendal: "That's not the point! Now let's try this again. Give me your hand."

Günter: "Ow! that hurt!"

Gwendal: "What did you do?"

Günter: "You jabbed it right into me! Be more gentle if you please!"

Gwendal: "Don't complain if you can't take it, Günter—and stop playing with my balls! It took me a long time to get them that way!"

Günter: "But they're so big! I can barely fit them in my hand!"

Gwendal: "Just concentrate and follow my directions."

Günter: (begins whining) "And how long is this supposed to take to finish?"

Gwendal: "I can do it in about half an hour. You would probably take all damn day."

By this time, Conrad's jaw had long since dropped to the floor, and he is now standing in place, frozen with shock. Yuri starts tugging on his godfather's sleeve, looking somewhat alarmed and uncomfortable, asking meekly what exactly is going on in there. Conrad hoped that this was just another misunderstanding like the one that occurred earlier this week, but the next outburst quickly dashed his hopes.

Günter: "Can we at least try a different technique? Preferably one that's easier?"

Gwendal: "This IS the easiest one!"

Günter: "Oh, wait—I think I got it! Yes! YES!"

(A bunch of objects fall onto the floor.)

Gwendal: "Damn it, Günter! You made a mess!"

Günter: "I'm sorry, Gwendal! I got so excited that I just couldn't hold it in any longer!"

Gwendal: "Yeah, well I'm not satisfied. How many times do I have to tell you it's 'knit one, pearl two'?!"

Conrad leaned back against the wall, and breathed out a huge sigh of relief.

"Conrad, remind me not to learn how to knit," Yuri finally uttered before walking away, all reason for being there now forgotten.

It was turning out to be an interesting week at Covenant Castle.

The End (?)
