The tall grass in the forest clearing danced as the breeze shifted each strand. As a tiny petal was blown from its spot on a still head of black hair, a soft feminine giggle could be heard. A pale, slender hand replaced the fallen flower. The flower crowned man let out a sigh as he opened his eyes to the sight of his giggly friend sitting on her knees with an arm full of small flowers.
"You're wasting those flowers, Hinata." The young man looked pointedly at the bunch in her arms. He leaned back on his hands from his meditation position. She pouted as she retorted, "They're making something so hideous, quite beautiful."
The young man glared half-heartedly at her as he shook his head violently, ruining her hard work as they fell to the ground, some falling in her lap as she was sitting in such close proximity. Instead of pouting harder, as he had expected, she threw her arms in the air. The beautiful petals raining down as she fell back onto the soft warm grass. A smile plastered on her lips as she closed her eyes and took in the warmth of the sun's rays shining though the tall trees.
He watched her through obsidian eyes. The rise and fall of her chest through her lavender kimono top relaxed him. His hand reached to nudge her foot awake, "Don't you have anything better to do?"
"Nope." She quickly replied as she smiled at him. Hinata pushed herself off the ground and to her feet. Dusting her top and black pants off she held out a hand to him, "Let's go into the market before work, Sasuke-san."
Sasuke rolled his eyes as he took the extended hand into his own as she hauled him up. "I need to train, you know this, and I can't focus when you kill nature and decorate my hair with filthy weeds." He held his arms high above his head stretching after two hours of attempted meditation.
The petite woman bent backwards as she caught herself and flipped into a handstand. Her long, dark blue strands falling into the grass as she looked up at him, "You are either training, or working everyday." She let her legs fall forward as she stood upright once more looking at her taller counter-part, "Being a samurai doesn't seem so interesting."
"To you at least." He bent down to pick up a sheathed katana left in the grass, securing it to its' familiar spot on his left hip. "Besides, I cannot afford to let my skills go dull." Sasuke started to walk after Hinata as she left the clearing.
His black bangs blowing softly in his face as he followed after the tiny woman. Hinata always disturbed him during his training. Although he didn't mind her company, not that he would ever admit it, she would try to discourage his training. He knew very well why. He recalled her confiding in him the death of her parents in a war long ago. Slaughtered by an enemy samurai. However, everyone knows the dangers of learning the way of the sword.
"You should join me, instead of hindering me."
She turned around and stuck her tongue out at him, before continuing onto the paved road that led into the village. Sasuke smiled. This was the Hinata that was completely relaxed and at peace, although a bit childish. She was this way only with him.
He smirked as he silently picked up a small pebble and, with the speed and form of a top-class samurai, threw it at the back of her head. She quickly tilted her head slightly to the left and caught the small stone with two fingers in front of her face. He smiled proudly at her sharp sense that rivalled his own and watched as she threw the stone to the side and sighed.
"That's for calling me ugly."
"But I caught it."
"Hn."
She smiled back at him and stopped a few paces as to walk beside him. Side by side, they walked in silence towards the main streets of their huge village.
