He'd made the stop on a whim, a whim that could have gotten him killed if it wasn't for her. She'd come out of nowhere, but she moved so fast that she seemed to be everywhere at once. The gang that had surrounded him went down fast, and without a fight. Not a single shot was fired.
Harry stared at her as she clobbered the last thug with the baseball bat she procured from their leader. She glanced at her handiwork, nodded in approval and tossed the bat into a nearby dumpster.
"Um…Thank you Miss--?"
"Buffy. I'm Buffy Summers." Her clothes were a little strange, they didn't maker her stand out much but her aura did that for her. She had an inner strength he hadn't seen very often.
"Well, thank you Buffy."
"No problem." She glanced at him, eyes traveling up and down his body. "So, where and when am I?"
"Excuse me?"
"What year is it?"
"1988."
"Oh boy; Giles is gonna love this." She sighed and flipped her hair like it was an artistic gesture. "Wonder if I ended up in an alternate reality."
"What are you talking about?"
She smiled at him then and he had trouble thinking. "Listen…what's your name?"
"Harry Ioki."
"Listen Harry, I'm starving. Treat me to dinner?" She batted long lashes at him and Harry could only nodd. "Then I'll tell you all about."
"Oh boy."
