A/N: Ok, so I wrote this songfic forever ago whilst sitting in my math class. I can't say that I'm horribly proud of it, but I like the story line of it. So R & R please! This song was written by Mark Shultz for those who are interested. It's called Think of Me

-x-

The raven haired man looked upon his young, sleeping wife as he adjusted his robes. He felt the tears prick his eyes, so this is goodbye?

Packing my bags this morning

Was the hardest thing to do

Packing my bags was so easy

Compared to standing outside your door right now, to say goodbye to you

The redhead stirred lightly in her sleep, yawning. She seemed unwilling to wake. She sat up, blinking her beautiful green eyes that gazed upon her husband sadly.

Think of me

I know you've never seen my cry

Think of me

But it's so hard to say goodbye

Think of me

Why can't I seem to show you

I'll never give up on you

I will be waiting for you

He silently sat down next to her. This was no time to talk. He neither felt like talking, nor wanted to talk. He gently placed an arm around her, absorbing every last moment he had with her.

I will be there when you call

I will see you through it all

And even in your darkest hour

I pray that the Lord be found

And set you on solid ground.

She sniffled; a crystal tear fell from her eyes. A tear that would be the first of many. Any other time, he would simply brush the tear away and find a way to make her smile again. Not today; today, he was the reason she was crying

I know that is feels like leaving
Is a part of letting go
But I'm praying with hope and believing
That I'll see you once again down this road
I hope that it won't be long

He was leaving, not her, but this home. He prayed that he would safely return here, to her, soon. But now, duty calls. He was leaving for her, fighting for her. No matter how difficult the thought was, it was easier knowing that she would be safe here, without him.

Think of me

I know God brought you as a friend

Think of me

I know he'll bring you back again

Think of me

Why can't I seem to show you?

I'll never give up on you

I will be waiting for you

She took a deep breath to calm herself, looking directly into his hazel eyes, "I love you," she whispered quietly; as if speaking loud would spoil this, take him away immediately.

I will be there when you call

I will see you through it all

And even in your darkest hour

I pray that the Lord be found

And set you on solid ground.

His watched beeped, signaling that he had to go. She had looked down, breaking his gaze. They stood in the door way, still silent. He gathered her in his arms, holding her one final time.

I will be there when you call

I will see you through it all

And even in your darkest hour

I pray that the Lord be found

And set you on solid ground.

The tears fell, not only from her eyes, but from his as well, the final moments they had together were almost over.

Think of me
I know you've never seen me cry
Think if me
But it's so hard to say goodbye
Think of me
What can I say to show you
I'll never give up on you
I will be waiting for you

He broke away from her, unable to take anymore. He didn't even bother to wipe away his own tears. "I love you." He whispered before making his exit

Think of me

The young girl collapsed on the bed, overcome by her tears. He was gone. Heaven only knew if she would ever see him again.

Think of me

He walked slowly out of the tiny house, trying to block out the sound of his beautiful, young wife's sobs

Think of me
