Respect your elders. That's not something that happens nowadays. I mean just last month my house was vandalised and robbed by two children who attempted my murder.
I enjoy a stroll through the woods now and then and the first time I became aware of these children was on such a walk. My pet crow Wilbur tells me what's around me and what's going on since I'm blind. On this occasion he informed me of a family walking through the woods, the father seemed to be a wood cutter and he and his wife had two children, a boy and a girl. The boy was placing white pebbles on the forest floor which he was sure to have taken from his mother's garden. They were no doubt some form of decoration that he had vandalised. Well, I went on my way not wanting to intrude and didn't see them again until a couple of weeks later.
As I was walking through the woods once more, Wilbur once again informed me of the family walking through the woods. This time the however the boy was trailing breadcrumbs behind him, the ungrateful little snot! His parents had worked hard for that bread, especially with the current famine. If he didn't want it then he shouldn't have been throwing it on the ground. Wilbur was hungry and so he flew down and started eating the crumbs. Well, it's waste not, want not I suppose.
The next day as I was having my lunch I heard a strange crunching noise coming from just outside. I left to investigate and was informed by Wilbur of the two children from earlier eating my house! Well, that was the last straw; I barged out and shouted at the two small brutes. I grabbed the boy, the rowdier of the two and stuck him in a cage, meaning to teach him a lesson.
As I grabbed him I felt how skinny he was. I had plenty of food and these children were obviously from a poor family so I decided to feed them back to a healthy size before letting them go.
I've memorised where things are in the house so I don't need Wilbur with me, he only accompanies me when I leave. I still have a bit of difficulties with chores though so I asked the girl to do them for me which she agreed to, though her voice sounded oddly shaky. I decided she must be cold though and so asked her to stoke the fire.
After a few weeks I started getting rather worried though, the boy didn't seem to be gaining any weight at all, his finger felt as though it were solid bone, no fat or flesh whatsoever. Well, I decided to treat the two of them to a roast that day. I told the girl to go and check to see if the oven was warm enough yet. She can't have been a very bright girl because she had no idea how! As I demonstrated to her how it was done, she pushed me inside and shut the door. I shrieked in surprise before teleporting myself away and into the woods.
It took me a while to get back, I'm not as fit as I used to be, and when I got there the two children were gone along with my valuables. Well, I can tell you now; I phoned the police in a shot and told them all that had happened. Fortunately for me the two were caught and my valuables returned to me.
