THE CARTOON WARS

Episode 1: The War Begins

Cartoon Land has been ravaged ever since control of the nation was seized by COMMANDER ALEX and his Loyalist troops years before. When Alex took over by winning the Two-Day War, a small rebellion force had hoped to get a chance to remove him from power. But, having a deadly assistant in the form of GENERAL GRIEVOUS, the rebels had done nothing. When they finally did; the plan failed, and Alex ravaged the land. Years later, COLONEL SANDY CHEEKS and PRIVATE TIMMY TURNER are two rebels in the beleaguered CAPITAL, where plans are being formed to force Alex out of power and save the country yet again...

"August 8, 2008 or 8/8/08, the day the attack began. Around 12:01 pm THEY started to teleport into our four biggest cities at the time. First, let me explain who they are. They are Loyalists, people who are content with worshiping and dying for their leader, the greedy Commander Alex, who assumed power after the fiasco, the Two-Day War. Don't get me wrong, Loyalists are cartoons like us, the rebel forces, but they believe in the twisted, dark regime. The four cities the Loyalists teleported in were Retroville (now a prison/training camp), Dimmsdale; my home town (now still a city but heavily guarded), Amity Park (now mostly rubble while the remaining parts are used as rebel outposts), and The Capital where our rightful leader, Scooby-Doo, used to reside (now it's still the capital where Alex is looming over the city in the Capital building) this is where I am stationed now. After taking over those cities, they spread their attacks out to most of our major cities. Each city slowly fell and two days later the land was completely taken over by Alex and his Loyalist troops. His "bodyguard", General Grievous, is just as ruthless as he is. Rebel Command has not found Grievous's origin, but we think he came from the human world, a very mysterious place to us, all we know are the neighbors at our nation's border, the Video Game Kingdom with its President, Albert Wesker and Disney Land with King Mickey. Alex demanded a lot of taxes and many tributes and killed all who resisted like the cold-hearted bastard he is. All the while, our small rebellion force was growing, ready to force Alex out of power and destroy his evil regime for good. We waited patiently for years for our time to strike, but when we attacked the Capital building, his palace, it was a total failure. Grievous was incredibly powerful, more powerful than we imagined and killed the five rebel leaders sent inside the palace. X-J9's head was taken off, Father was melted, Duck Dodger's gun backfired, Tommy Pickles was stabbed in the back, and Prince Zuko was blown up. That was exactly four years ago, it is now June 4, 2015. After that near attempt on his life, Alex got so pissed that he killed many cartoons on a day known as the Great Lynching. Lynching wasn't the only manner of execution, but it was the most remembered. It was an attempt to kill the rebel command as well as instill fear in the population from joining the rebellion movement. Grievous received some henchmen of his own to act as the Loyalist commanders: General Reginald Skarr, Vlad Plasmius, Squilliam Fancyson, Jonny 2x4, William Shatner, and The Merchant, a mysterious weapons dealer from the Video Game Kingdom. Each was chosen because of their contributions before the Two-Day War in the time of the Great Bribing (a week before the attack, Alex and his cronies went across the country and asked everyone and anyone they could if they wanted to join the Loyalist cause; it was known as The Great Bribing, quite a few once good cartoons were turned evil and that is how they received much of their help, with everyone Alex and company recruited). Ever since the failed assault, we've been struggling to gain any sort of ground in our war against the Loyalist regime. I hope we can win this war or, at the very least, someone remembers our sincere struggle."

After putting down his pencil and seeing what he had written, Private Timothy Tiberius Turner thought to himself, 'I think I'm finally done.' Timmy proceeded to call out to his commanding officer, "I think I'm done with the note Colonel!"

Colonel Sandy Cheeks entered the room, gun at the ready and told him, "Just leave it Private, I need your help to gather ammo and, in a few hours, we will have to go our separate ways." Sandy had joined up with the rebellion many years ago and was considered a very effective leader. While she put on a front trying to show that she was cold and distant, secretly she cared for everyone who was put under her command.

Timmy asked, "Where am I going again?"

Sandy sighed and told her forgetful friend, "I'm going over to meet the General and then going to meet with Coop to see if we can't end this war. When the Xiaolin monks get here they will take you to help our cause in another part of the country."

"But why do I have to go?" Timmy questioned.

"Because you're the last Private I have left, and we aren't coming back to this hideout anymore. They need someone to go," Sandy said with regret. Timmy was, in fact, one of the best rebels she had served with. Time and time again refusing promotion to stay down with the lowly others, his friends.

"But I want to come with you," Timmy whined, hoping to get her to change her mind.

"No," Sandy told Timmy as a tear started to form in her eye, "and that's an order. I know it's been tough losing all four of your friends and your family but sometimes you must move on. I am really sorry we never found out who did it."

Most of the rebellion forces had lost at least one friend or family member to the Loyalists. Timmy had not only lost his mother and father, but his four best friends (Chester, AJ, Elmer, and Sanjay) in a major suicide maneuver about six months ago. They were trying to provide a distraction for Sandy and the others who were on a reconnaissance mission that came under attack by Loyalist forces. The five had practiced weird strategies while they were alone at their base, an area labeled Sector C. However, while performing the move on the field, the other four were mysteriously killed by shuriken. The two assailants, briefly glimpsed throwing the shuriken, were never identified. After the tragedy, Sandy took it upon herself to look after Timmy and make sure nothing happened to him. Sector C was going to be abandoned later that day and all its occupants were to be reassigned to other rebel outposts throughout the nation. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door that startled the two inside.

"Who is it?" Sandy asked, raising her gun just in case.

The voice on the other side replied, "It's Tracey, open up."

Sandy grabbed the handle and slightly opened the door while Major Tracey Sketchit burst into the room with several other rebels behind him. Tracey was originally a Pokémon watcher and artist who found himself out of a job when Pokémon became extinct shortly after the Loyalist coup. Tracey joined up with the rebels and eventually was transferred to the Capital under the command of Sandy.

"What's the meaning of this?" questioned Sandy.

"Sorry Colonel but the monks have canceled coming here right now, Loyalist troops are heading this way," Tracey replied, worried sick.

"What!" Sandy yelled, aghast.

Timmy, knowing what must have happened, thoughtfully explained, "Someone must have tipped them off to our base."

"You had better tell the others Major," Sandy told Tracey. Next, she walked right up next to Tracey, close enough that Timmy could not hear and told him, "We might not survive this Trace."

"I know, ma'am," Tracey replied. Tracey smiled with her one last time before running out of the room yelling, "Get to your positions! Red alert!"

All at once, rebels woke up or stopped what they were doing, grabbed any weapon they could find, and headed for emergency positions in case negotiations failed. Loyalists had come into the area before, but they did not know any of the cartoons that lived here were rebel forces, or even that they possessed weapons.

Timmy did not know what to do as rebels were running everywhere and panicking. Several ran past him and almost knocked Timmy to the ground in the confusion.

"Private, follow me!" called Tracey, seeing Timmy floundering around.

Timmy followed Major Sketchit up a staircase to the roof of the small area that was Sector C. They both saw that several others were already waiting anxiously. A lookout, a member of Sector C from its creation who was friends with almost everyone there, was using binoculars to spy on the Loyalist troops from afar.

Tracey asked the lookout, "Do you see them yet?"

The lookout shook his head as he stated, "Nothing yet but- wait! Now I see them, they're coming up here alright. We had better get into emergency positions."

Timmy sat in a spot right of Tracey and left of the lookout. The others were ready for a confrontation at any time.

Timmy thought to himself, 'I hope this isn't too much for me. I am the only Private. Everyone else is way above me.'

Timmy was the only Private out of the 43 positioned there. Inside the Capital rank and promotions were much easier to obtain than out in the rest of the land as every Sector handled their groups individually and promoted as they saw fit. Many stationed here were Private First Class while the rest were Corporals (including the lookout). Only Tracey and another cartoon were Majors, all led by Colonel Cheeks. Sector C had not seen much action during the war. The rebel commanders only rarely called upon them for duty.

As thoughts ran throughout the rebel's heads, the Loyalists continued to approach the small stronghold. Instead of the usual patrol of maybe five to ten soldiers, this Loyalist force had what appeared to be at least 100 soldiers present.

Sandy ushered the second Major and a few other rebels out on the field to attempt to get the Loyalists to leave the premises. Sandy grabbed as many weapons off the negotiation party as she could to try and pass them off as normal civilians. This tactic had always worked in the past with small Loyalist patrols, but the rebels never took any chances. With Sandy giving orders for the ground level and Tracey ordering the above rebels, the rebels could attempt to fight back if the negotiations failed.

"Don't fire unless the welcoming committee gets wiped out." Tracey ordered. All those positioned on top waited anxiously as the rebels on the field walked to meet the Loyalists. The Major out on the field began his persuasion.

"What seems to be the trouble here?" the Major asked.

A smaller man walked out in front of them all. The commanding officer turned out to be none other than General Reginald Skarr. General Skarr was a former general to a mad, evil genius who eventually ran out of money and was forced to retire. Skarr turned to a life of gardening but always longed to be thrust back into the evil spotlight. When the time of the Great Bribing came, Skarr unhesitatingly joined up with Alex and company provided he was able to attain his old rank back. Skarr eventually became the second-in-command under Grievous and one of the most efficient and effective Loyalist commanders.

General Skarr paced around the rebels, stating his words in a matter-of-fact tone, "We have received a report that rebels stationed in this area were planning to attack an encampment of ours and are stockpiling their own weapons. Commander Alex has assured me you will either come with us or end up dying."

Trying to keep his cool, the Major calmly replied, "I wasn't aware of this. We've always just been trying to live our lives here under your zoning laws."

"Don't bullshit me! I know you're behind it!" Skarr yelled with such ferocity that almost scared the Major.

"No, we are not," the Major once again replied, retaining his cool, "Check with your other patrols that come into this area frequently. They'll assure you that we are not reb-."

Suddenly, a grenade one of the field rebels had been carrying in his hand accidentally dropped to the ground. The rebel had completely forgotten to remove it before he went out into the field. On the roof, Tracey brought his hand to his face and shook his head. He thought that the negotiations could have worked had the blunder not occurred.

The loud thunk was heard by Skarr who yelled very agitated, "What was that!"

The rebels tried to quietly cover up the blunder, but Skarr pushed himself between them to pick up the grenade.

With an evil smile Skarr asked, "What is this?" as he held up the grenade to the face of the Major.

The Major started to panic, "I-I-I-I don't know," he stammered.

"Oh, you know exactly what this is. As do I. Let's do things my way," Skarr turned around, walked a few paces away behind his soldiers, and told his Loyalists calmly, "Kill them."

The front row of Skarr's forces fired and riddled the Major and the other rebels with bullets right on the spot.

Seeing that negotiations failed, Tracey yelled, "Now!"

At that instant, the rest of the rebels fired what weapons they had and, for a few seconds at least, they were winning. The front line of Skarr's Loyalist forces fell instantly, but his larger force returned fire and the firefight became a different story. Weapons blazed from both sides and casualties began to mount. However, none of the rebels on the roof were killed as though the Loyalists did not notice them. This was soon proven wrong as one of Skarr's sharpshooters killed a rebel right next to Tracey.

"Keep going! We can win!" Tracey yelled at the top of his lungs to try and inspire the rebels to victory.

Tracey had, unfortunately, spoken too soon as forty to fifty more Loyalists started to storm towards Sector C. It seemed when one Loyalist was killed by the rebels, four more went in to take their place. However, when one of the rebels fell, no one was there to replace them. It was a giant massacre.

Timmy thought, 'This is madness!'

On the battlefield, Skarr had hastily moved from the front lines to the rear and ordered to the Loyalists in back, "Attack those on the roof. They are causing us the most damage."

Every weapon on the Loyalist side began to blaze, nearly every shot aimed at the roof. Most everyone on the roof was killed in the firefight. With their comrades dying left and right, the remaining rebels abandoned the roof. Only the lookout, Tracey, Timmy, and another two rebels were left on the roof after the chaos. They all ducked behind cover and reloaded.

Sandy wanted to try to gain some ground as she told her troops to storm the battlefield. The decision was a horrible one as most who went out were killed directly stepping out into battle. Soon those on the ground ducked behind what little cover there was available and stayed put.

Skarr yelled, "Cease fire!", when it seemed no gunfire was coming from the rebels. "Send a few around the back, while the others approach from the front," he commanded. Several of Skarr's troops did as he ordered and began to run around the backside of the base.

The truth was most of the 43 had been killed. Besides the five on the roof only a few remained on the lower level including Sandy. Suddenly, one rebel tried to be a hero and popped out of his hiding place.

"No!" Sandy quietly yelled. It was too late as a Loyalist fired one shot and instantly hit the rebel between the eyes. His body hit the floor with a horrible splat. Some turned their faces away in disgust while others did nothing at all, too scared to move or even breathe too heavily.

Timmy told Tracey, "Hey not to be the bearer of bad news, but it would be stupid to stay up here and die, I really think we should get below."

"Alright but let's make it subtle and inconspicuous," Tracey replied, agreeing.

The five of them quietly made their way down to the ground floor and took positions inside the building with their remaining comrades. Sandy was struggling to find the words to decide of an action.

After a long silence, Sandy finally asked, "Okay since there are only fourteen of us left, we either have to retreat or face destruction. How do we vote?" Most everyone voted to leave apart from Tracey.

Tracey saluted and raised his weapon, "I will defend the fort till the end, Colonel. It will give you time to escape."

Sandy, used to the deaths of dear friends, sighed heavily but saluted back," You will always be remembered for this sacrifice, soldier."

The lookout suddenly interjected, "If he stays, I stay with him, we owe it to each other." Tracey and the lookout exchanged nods. Both felt they had seen enough of the war.

Sandy was aghast, but nodded, "Very well, neither of you will be forgotten." Sandy made a signal to the others, "The rest of you, move out."

The remaining twelve left the bunker very hastily out of the back door. What they did not count on was Skarr's Loyalists having surrounded the area. When the rebels began to exit the structure, most were shot to death without ever ducking for cover.

Tracey and the lookout ran outside to try and give support to their fellow rebels.

Tracey was shot in the chest right as he popped out of the bunker and fell to the ground, severely wounded. Tracey groaned as he covered his wounded chest and lifted himself up, resting his back against the wall of the building.

The lookout looked at his fallen friend and yelled, "No!" The lookout fired his gun wildly as he picked up Tracey's gun with his other hand. Using both guns, the lookout killed all the Loyalists that had surrounded them, including the one who wounded Tracey.

"Go now!" the lookout yelled to the remaining rebels; Sandy, Timmy, and two other remaining rebels who sprinted out of the area. With more Loyalists coming around, the lookout wildly fired both weapons again causing most of them to duck for cover.

Tracey coughed, "Get out of here, my friend. I am done for."

"I'll never abandon a friend," the lookout replied, taking a second to stop his firing spree.

Right at that moment of the reply a shot rang out. A Loyalist fired a bullet that pierced the lookout in the neck. Gasping, the lookout tried to swallow, but only began to choke and gag as he slowly collapsed to the ground and softly groaned, dying.

Tracey gasped at the sight of his fallen friend and yelled out even though he was in great pain, "You bastards!"

The other four rebels, having run off as fast as they could, were split up in the confusion. One rebel ran back out into the open and was killed by Skarr's Loyalists. The second rebel saw her comrade's death and attempted to avenge him, but she too was sprayed with bullets almost immediately.

Timmy and Sandy stuck together as they clung to the shadows to escape the scene. As it seemed they were about to get away scot-free there was a grunt from behind them. The Loyalist who killed the lookout was pursuing them and was about ready to fire his gun. Timmy stuck his weapon out, but the gun jammed and did not fire. Sandy fired once, hitting the Loyalist right in the skull as he flopped to the ground. Luckily Sandy had fired at the same time as several of the other Loyalists had to make sure no one remained in the base. Sandy pointed away as Timmy nodded and the two of them slunk away from the scene, the only survivors. The two made their way through the dismal streets to another part of the city.

At Sector C, Skarr and his forces continued to search the area for any form of life. Apart from the heavily wounded Tracey, there was no sign of anything alive. Skarr paced back and forth in front of Tracey, extremely worried that some rebels may have escaped.

"Where is your commanding officer!" Skarr barked.

Tracey chuckled a bit, followed by several loud coughs, "She and Timmy made it out. You've failed you son of a bi-."

Tracey's voice was cut off by a cross Skarr who fired his pistol into the wounded Tracey, executing him.

"So, there's two of them still alive!" Skarr quickly told his squadron leaders, "Stack the bodies in the place and burn it. Tell Grievous nothing about the two escapees. I will report to him myself."

While walking away, Skarr thought to himself, 'Timmy? I thought Alex said something about a Timmy during one of our war meetings. I'd better mention something to the others individually.'

The Loyalists stacked the bodies of the rebels inside of the abandoned base and set the building on fire, burning everything inside including Timmy's note. The official report would be that an electrical fire burned the place down and that several Loyalists had perished while trying to rescue everyone inside but that no survivors were found.

Meanwhile, in another part of the city, two other figures moved across the streets, having pilfered secrets from a Loyalist outpost.

"Man, we're not supposed to be here," said a little figure with a red shirt, "What if we get caught?" he told his companion. Mac and his imaginary friend Bloo were freelance agents who occasionally supported the rebels. They would go undercover and sneak out with any secrets they could find in exchange for payment.

Bloo, a small blue blob, was listening to a music player with headphones, dancing around, and not even paying attention to his friend. Bloo was showboating at another successful operation and the payment that they were about to receive. Bloo also failed to notice a third figure approach from the rear.

As Mac sighed and smiled, he felt a sharp pain in his chest as he looked down and spied a blue sword of light sticking through his body. Mac's eyes rolled back in his head as he died. The third figure grabbed Mac's dead body and chucked it behind him, Mac's shirt tearing off in the process.

Bloo turned the music player off and asked without looking behind him, "What did you say Mac? Mac? Mac?!"

The third figure chuckled slightly as Bloo turned around to see a robot staring him in the face. The robot wore a cape and had very piercing eyes, the only real way any emotion could be conveyed as his robotic face could not change.

"Oh, hello there mister, have ya seen a short kid in a red shirt?" Bloo asked.

The mechanized voice of General Grievous responded with, "You mean this shirt?" Grievous held up Mac's torn, red shirt.

"Yeah, where'd you find it? By the way I'm Bloo," Bloo nonchalantly spoke, not realizing he was talking to one of the leaders of the Loyalist regime.

"I found it over there by that hole in the wall," Grievous turned and pointed. A conveniently placed hole was across the street in a building's wall.

"Okay thanks, I'll check it out," Bloo smiled.

Bloo walked over and started calling for Mac yet again. As he got closer, a gun poked out of the wall and shot the unsuspecting Bloo in the face.

Grievous laughed and coldly stated, "Fool." A beeping sound was heard as he pressed a button on his wrist and six small holograms appeared.

Grievous addressed his commanders by stating, "Time to give me the latest news of the day! Report Colonel 2x4."

"My visit to Townsville was a success. We now have even more fresh recruits heading to the city," Colonel Jonny 2x4 stated, anxious to kill more once he got back to the city. Jonny was just a normal kid before the war, a bit odd, carried around a plank of wood as his best friend but still a kid. During the events of the Great Bribing, Jonny was convinced that all his friends and neighbors would betray him and see him labeled as a freak. As a result, Jonny's frail sanity broke and he joined the Loyalist regime, becoming a skilled torturer as well as completely psychotic. Jonny was promoted to Colonel before the Two-Day War and became one of Grievous' underlings after the failed attack on Alex's palace, the Capital building. Jonny was also the best swimmer in the Loyalist army and was always chosen for any aquatic missions.

Grievous nodded in approval as he went on, "Excellent. Colonel Fancyson report."

The nasally voice of Squilliam Fancyson replied with, "I had an insider report to us the location of a rebel hideout." Colonel Squilliam Fancyson was also swayed to the Loyalist side during the Great Bribing, albeit much easier than most of the recruits. Fancyson had money and access to resources. When promised that his personal fortune would remain untouched if he joined, Squilliam happily joined the cause. He self-promoted himself to Colonel but constantly relied on others to get his own work done due to his lazy and pampered lifestyle.

"Is it destroyed?" Grievous asked.

"Yes, with Skarr's assistance," beamed Squilliam.

"Good," Grievous replied, turning to the next hologram, "General Skarr report."

Skarr relayed, "I destroyed that rebel base Squilliam mentioned with very few casualties."

"Were there any rebel survivors?" Grievous asked.

Skarr hesitated and did not know how to answer but finally spoke after a silence, "No, sir."

Grievous seemed pleased with the answer, "Good, Colonel Merchant report."

Merchant reported with a laugh, "I gathered a lot of weapons and more allies for our cause." Colonel Merchant was a "gift" from President Albert Wesker of the Video Game Kingdom for the Loyalist cause right before the start of the Two-Day War. Merchant was a black-market weapons dealer and had been forced to leave the Video Game Kingdom by Wesker's request. Merchant still had many connections and helped supply the Loyalists with their initial weaponry. The Loyalists turned a blind eye to the black-market weapon dealings by Merchant as he continued to help to supply the Loyalist cause. After becoming one of Grievous' henchmen, Merchant continued to be effective and very respected in the eyes of his Loyalist forces, despite some of his shadier aspects.

"Excellent!" beamed Grievous, "General Plasmius report."

"I destroyed a base disguised as a store," came the harsh voice of Vladimir Plasmius. General Vlad Plasmius, aka Vlad Masters, was a rich cartoon who was also half ghost. Masters agreed to put his personal fortune into the Loyalist cause in return for a high position of power and the freedom to use his ghost powers night and day. Plasmius traveled around in his ghost form 95% of the time and most did not know that he and Masters were one and the same. Plasmius, as a ghost, was also very effective and almost unstoppable. While technology did exist to make cartoon ghosts mortal and weaken their powers, Plasmius had, so far, avoided all attempts to reduce his powers.

"Good. Colonel Shatner report," Grievous said, turning to the last hologram.

William Shatner, talking in his manner (the first word in a sentence very slow and elongated, followed by the rest of the sentence in a much faster cadence), while caressing his mysterious skull ring with a T.T. on it, replied, "I...destroyed more of our super-powered enemies that had gathered." Colonel William Shatner was a cartoon based on the real-life actor but was unlike every other version. On the day he joined the Loyalists, this Shatner entered an audition room containing other cartoon William Shatners as he was told by the Loyalist benefactors that only one would be selected. Shatner quickly slaughtered all the other versions of himself and found himself being made a member of a very inner circle of Loyalists. While this version of Shatner did have the same speech quirk as other versions, Shatner did not have his body spaz out of control or anything that made him appear "funny." Since being placed as one of Grievous' allies, he has continued to be an effective killer and leader to his group of Loyalists.

"Great. Many more of our enemies have been crushed thanks to you. Let's get back to the Capital," Grievous commanded, "Oh and report the deaths of two more individuals caught stealing Loyalist secrets. Call it an accident. And Skarr, you and I are going to head over to our special 'mission'."

The six all saluted and replied, "Yes sir!"

After the holograms disappeared, Grievous sighed to himself and pondered, 'Do I really like killing as much as everyone, including myself, believes I do?' This version of General Grievous had started out the same as every version of himself, a cold-blooded Jedi killer. However, his destroyed remains had been found on the planet of Utapau and reworked with various other bits of technology to bring him back to life. While he was explained that his body parts were from other various versions of himself, Grievous' body had been repaired and redesigned to make him much more effective on the battlefield. Grievous was brought onto the scene to be a figure for the Loyalist forces to rally behind and he was made the head General of all the Loyalist forces. However, something had gone wrong during his revival and this version of Grievous sometimes had flashes of morality and honor that made him unique.

Grievous walked down the street away from the two dead bodies as the thoughts in his head left just as suddenly as they entered. Grievous soon focused on his next task and waited to meet up with Skarr.

Sandy and Timmy kept moving along towards the rebellion general's location. When they got to the building, they knocked on the door and a voice came from behind it.

"What's the password?" an annoying voice asked.

Sandy was annoyed and not in the mood to play games, "Sheen, shut up and open the door."

"Alright, but you can never be too careful nowadays," Private Sheen Estevez replied, opening the door for them both. Sheen was originally from the town of Retroville but had volunteered to be moved to the Capital after volunteers were asked to come from various parts of the country.

"That's a great way to get us discovered anyway idiot," chided Sandy.

A voice from further inside spoke up, "Is that Sandy mon?"

Sheen replied, "Yes General."

When Timmy entered the room, he saw several others already gathered. Beside Sheen there was a guy with a football shaped head and yellow hair, an incredibly stupid looking boy next to a girl who looked like she was evil, there also was a guy that looked smart with a weird black hat on his head. The person who spoke was a tall, dark slender figure who was a skeleton, even dressed in a black robe that had a hood.

The Grim Reaper, lead General of the rebellion, questioned, "What happened to Tracey?" Grim had been the head general of the rebellion for many years and governed the small faction along with the help of the Rebel High Command. Grim also had a faux-Jamaican accent at times, often ending a lot of his sentences with the word "mon."

Sandy replied, "He was killed along with the rest of my troops, Grim. Private Turner's all I got left."

Grim asked, a bit startled at the news, "You were attacked?"

Sandy nodded and scowled, "By Skarr."

"So, it seems that the Loyalists are getting more and more bold and brash with their tactics," Grim mused, looking to the other gathered rebels.

"Great," sighed Timmy.

"Anyway, if this is all that's coming, we might as well get started," Grim suggested.

This was only a small meeting of several of the factions of rebels stationed in the city. Grim pulled out a piece of paper and began to tell everyone who had gathered.

Grim relayed, "I received this note from Colonel Nigel Uno, who some of you may know as Numbuh 1, saying that we are to meet up with him and his soldiers after meeting up with Coop."

The football headed kid questioned, "Wasn't Coop's robot badly damaged in a battle?"

Grim answered him as well as introduced him to the gathered room, "Yes, Colonel Arnold, but he has been repairing it and the repairs are nearly finished...well at least according to him mon."

"We can only hope," Colonel Arnold sighed. Arnold was a Colonel stationed on the eastern edge of the Capital.

The smart kid spoke next seemingly taking over for Grim, "Also, everyone, many of our super powered allies are dead. Our biggest supporters, the Adult Swim area of our nation, have also seen many casualties. While most of the more powerful characters from Toonami and animated shows were destroyed within the first few years of the takeover, several isolated groups have managed to survive for this long. A group calling themselves the Inuyasha group is on their way to the Capital to support us."

"Very good Colonel Edd, I happen to know them personally," Grim said matter-of-factually introducing his second-in-command. Colonel Edd or Double D to his friends, was a very intelligent cartoon and one of the best planners in all the rebellion. Grim always made sure to have him around in case he needed someone to bounce ideas around.

Timmy asked, "How do you know them personally?"

"Someone died everyday with them around; I always was meeting up with them mon," smiled Grim, almost proud of the fact, "Plus I have another friend who is currently with them as they make their way here." Grim paused as he thought out loud, "I wonder if they still speak Japanese. If my friend is still with them, I'm sure he taught them the common tongue."

The stupid kid yelled, "DESTROY US ALL!"

"Oh, shut up," replied the evil-looking girl.

Sighing, Grim introduced them by stating, "This is Billy and Mandy; I hate them."

Billy smiled a toothy grin as Mandy scowled at everyone gathered. Privates Billy and Mandy were officially the owners of Grim, having become forced lifelong friends with him after a failed bet. Unlike Edd, Grim kept the two of them around in the hopes that they would be killed due to the war, so far, he had not been so lucky.

Sandy suggested, " I think we should get going to Coop's house now and stop wasting time!"

Sheen added, "I agree with the squirrel thing!"

"Then let's-," At that, Grim paused and looked towards the door when he thought he heard something outside. Grim motioned to Sheen who went over and stood behind the door.

Sheen asked the closed door the same thing he had asked Timmy and Sandy, "What's the password!"

A blast rattled against the door as Sheen was thrust back against the wall, a fresh bullet hole through the door. Sheen was already dead as his chest bled out profusely and his body crumpled to the floor.

Grim yelled to the others, "Everyone follow me!" Grim quickly pulled up a rug underneath the table as he began to lead the others out of the building. Everyone hurried into the secret exit under the floor and made their way out of the building.

"Quickly, quickly," hurried Sandy as Mandy shoved Billy down into the hole before jumping herself. Edd and Timmy went in next as Sandy motioned for Arnold to come over and escape.

Arnold had moved over to Sheen's body and was checking his deceased soldier as Sandy said through gritted teeth, "Now you idiot!"

Right as Arnold turned to leave, General Grievous came in the room, grabbed Arnold by the throat, and shoved him up against the wall. Arnold made a motion with his head and eyes as Sandy ducked into the hole as she closed it up behind her, the rug falling back into place. Arnold felt the life being choked out of him by Grievous.

Grievous asked, "Where are the leaders? Tell me and I might, perhaps, spare you and your pathetic life."

Arnold, in sheer pain from the choking, managed to squeak out in between pained breaths, "There...are...no...others."

"Then why was there a stooge at the door who wanted a password?!" Grievous yelled.

Arnold coughed a few times and somehow mustered up enough energy to spit in Grievous' face. Grievous responded to this by throwing Arnold into a nearby wooden cabinet with several sharp edges in it, killing him instantly.

"Skarr! Tear this place apart! If you find me any rebels bring them to me as prisoners!" Grievous ordered. After that, Grievous left the room to avoid being seen by Skarr and the others. Grievous sighed heavily and continued pondering the brief thought he had had earlier in the day.

Skarr proceeded to tear the house apart until they finally found the hidden exit under the rug. Skarr growled that they had missed out on dealing with a key rebel leader.

The others, by that time, were long gone and heading to Coop's location. After thirty minutes of tense travel, they made it to Coop's place and met him on his front lawn, with brown, dead grass. Harold "Coop" Cooplowski was a rather large man with blonde hair and a small beard. Coop had come into possession of a giant robot called MEGAS. Coop and his best friend, a slacker named Jamie who fancied himself as a "ladies' man" piloted the robot and helped keep areas of Cartoon Land safe from internal and external threats. MEGAS had been damaged during a fight in the Two-Day War and Coop had been grounded ever since. They had finally found enough parts to help bring MEGAS back to working order alongside their old friend former Commander Kiva Andru who was the original test pilot for MEGAS.

Coop smiled at Grim as the small group approached his house, but he suddenly became rather worried, "This is a smaller group than I expected."

Grim said, "We would have been bigger if Grievous wouldn't have killed Sheen and Arnold."

"Where are Jamie and Kiva?" Sandy asked, also knowing the three of them from some past encounters.

"They are out back repairing MEGAS," replied Coop, smiling to see another familiar face in Sandy there, "Good to see you, Sandy."

Sandy smiled back as she whispered to Timmy, "MEGAS is Coop's robot."

Edd asked hoping to hear anything good, "Any news?"

Coop shook his head and replied, "None, we haven't done shit to anything lately."

Suddenly, a loud whoosh and massive explosion were heard as Coop and the others collapsed to the ground dazed. Upon regaining composure, Coop cried out in a loud voice, "OH GOD NO!"

Everyone rushed to the backyard where Jamie and Kiva were, but the large robot MEGAS was in pieces, several of those pieces still burning and smoldering.

Coop asked Jamie, "Where is my robot!"

Jamie replied coughing, "It was just bombed as we were done working on it."

"Bombed?! From what?! The Loyalists hardly have any aircraft left!" yelled Coop angrily.

"I don't think it came from the air...it seemed to come from the ground," Kiva replied, having formerly been with the Loyalists and knowing their technology.

"I think we lost the war," Jamie added sadly.

Sandy said trying to inspire some courage, "Don't give up hope!"

"We can still win! Once that Inuyasha group or whatever gets here they can-," Timmy replied encouragingly.

"Help you surrender! Heh, heh, heh!" a mysterious voice finished. The rebels raised their weapons and spied the ominous figure of Colonel Merchant approaching from a nearby alleyway with an expended rocket launcher in his hand.

Grim, seeing no one around him, asked, "Well, well, well mon, if it isn't Merchant come to kill us and all by yourself too?"

"Not exactly, I've got something to help me that Alex ordered to be created," Merchant replied followed by him yelling out, "Storm Droids ATTACK!"

Instantly a group of machines burst onto the scene and began to fire their own weapons at the small rebellion force. The droids were a hybrid mixture of Battle Droids and Storm Troopers from the Star Wars series. The Storm Droids marched in unison as they gathered around Merchant, still firing their weapons. Unlike the normal arms that most of the Loyalists used, these droids used a blaster, a much more deadly weapon than a simple gun.

Not wasting time, Grim ordered, "Attack!"

Before anyone could do anything however, several of the Storm Droids fired their blasters and Kiva, Jamie, and Coop were on the ground. Kiva had been blasted twice in the leg but was still alive, Coop and Jamie were not so lucky. Both had been shot dead before they knew what happened.

Kiva winced in pain and, grabbing her deadened leg, yelled out, "What the hell was that!"

"A blaster, our droid's new weapons, you like them you little traitor?" Merchant replied, knowing that Kiva used to be a Loyalist before she defected, "The bolts of energy fired from these weapons do a much better job of killing, and rather cleanly I might add."

Timmy growled, "You'll pay for what you've done!"

Timmy whispered to a pair of medals that were pinned on his chest, one pink and one green, "I wish-."

Grim wondered what Timmy was doing as the rebels began to back away to cover, "What are you doing Private?"

"Uh, nothing General," replied Timmy hastily as he ignored his pink and green medals for the time being.

The droids continued to blast away at the rebels. Billy threw the pin of a grenade he was carrying instead of the grenade itself. Mandy's eyes went wide as she tried to get away from Billy as fast as she could, both were unfortunately killed in the ensuing explosion.

Grim viewed the explosion and, with exuberant happiness, yelled out "YES! I AM FREE!"

"Now isn't the time General!" Sandy yelled, helping move Kiva backwards. Soon, they had moved back near a close-by bunker and gathered around there.

"We're never going to get out of here!" the worry-wort Edd proclaimed.

Kiva, though wounded, replied, "Yes we can! This is a tunnel that leads to another safe-house."

"We will take that passageway then, come on!" Grim ordered as he opened the door to go into the tunnel.

"No," the voice of Sandy calmly said.

Edd was flabbergasted, "NO? What do you mean "no", we're gonna get killed!"

"They could easily follow us," Sandy pointed out.

"Of course they can, but better to make it somewhere we can have reinforcements mon," Grim declared.

Sandy shook her head, "I'll stay here and make sure they don't use the passageway."

Timmy, seeing the deaths of too many of his friends this one day alone, yelled out, "NO SANDY! YOU CAN'T!"

"I have too Private," Sandy said, giving a little smile as she continued, "I've been running for far too long. Well...I guess by our customs and since no one else from Sector C is left, that makes YOU Colonel now, Timmy."

"I won't leave you Sandy!" Timmy yelled, a tear streaming down his face.

Sandy, holding back tears, defiantly ordered, "Yes you will! That is an order COLONEL Turner!"

Looking at his friend one last time, Timmy decided to give up on arguing with her and sadly nodded, turning away and helping move Kiva with Edd.

Grim commented, trying to get her to reconsider, "Are you sure there's no other way?"

Sandy shook her head as she instead saluted Grim. Grim saluted back as he closed the door to the bunker, moving along with the other three down to the next rebel base.

Sandy, with Timmy, Grim, and the others, out of her sight finally let the tears stream down her face as she got her last grenade ready. She let two Storm Droids come up to her to kill her as she pulled the pin out of her final grenade with a defiant cry of "Eat this bolt-heads!"

The droids attempted to shoot the rebel before she pulled the pin out of grenade, but it was too late as the grenade exploded and took the bunker entrance down with it.

Merchant, looking pleased with himself, hit a button on his radio and reported to the others, "This is Colonel Merchant, reporting all dead, no survivors. I repeat, all dead, no survivors. I will be heading back to the Capital building now for a debrief."

End of Episode 1

Character Bios: (This is a section at the end of each episode to reveal a little more about the characters even if they are now dead)

Private/Colonel Timmy Turner: Born in Dimmsdale but forced to leave after the Two-Day War when his parents were killed. An average kid who almost no one understood, Timmy was granted fairy godparents to grant his every wish but even their magic could not help during the Two-Day War. Timmy eventually made his way to the Capital where he joined up with the rebellion along with his close circle of friends. Timmy was eventually assigned to Sector C along with his friends, Chester, AJ, Elmer, and Sanjay. During a battle the five of them did a suicide maneuver to protect Sandy but all his friends were killed leaving only him alive. He proceeded to become the top Private and soon the only Private of Sector C because he refused promotion to remember his friends.

Colonel Sandy Cheeks (Deceased): Became Colonel of Sector C after the previous one was killed in battle. After Timmy's friends died during the reconnaissance mission, she tried to watch over Timmy like he was a relative of hers. Though she liked to hide behind a tough exterior, Sandy cared for every cartoon under her command and always felt depressed and drained when one of them was killed on her watch. Sandy decided to make the ultimate sacrifice to allow several other rebels to escape during the Fight at the Cooplowski House.

Major Tracey Sketchit (Deceased): Once a Pokémon watcher and artist, his dream was crushed when most Pokémon that existed were made extinct after Alex and the Loyalists took over during an event called the Great Anime Purge. Afterwards, Tracey became a rebel and joined up with Sector C. His actions were noted as sometimes being too enthusiastic and too optimistic. Executed by Skarr.

The Lookout (Corporal) (Deceased): This rebel joined up with Sector C at its creation and eventually was promoted to the rank of Corporal. He was the longest living member of Sector C until his death. He was noted for being the best lookout possible and his death would be missed by the rebel forces. Killed by Loyalists.

Mac (Deceased): A freelance undercover operator who occasionally worked for the rebels for a sum of money. Was looking up information about Alex at the time of his death. Unknown to Mac they were followed from the area they obtained the information. Killed by Grievous.

Blooregard "Bloo" Q. Kazoo (Deceased): Mac's imaginary friend who also was a freelance agent. Accompanied Mac on his last mission. Shot dead by a Loyalist.

General Grievous: Originally destroyed on Utapau, an alternate universe version of his body was recovered by The Master and Alex and reworked back to life. He now serves as his unofficial bodyguard. Uses the many lightsabers he has taken from dead Jedi as well as his versatile body in combat. If Alex were ever killed, he would be next in line to take the throne. (Followed by Skarr, Plasmius, Merchant, Fancyson, 2x4, and Shatner.) His mind is now very conflicted over which side of the war to choose, as his sense of good and evil is now very skewed after he was repaired.

General Reginald Skarr: Once worked for Hector Con Carne and afterwards retired from villainy to gardening after his old boss ran out of money to continue operations. Once the Great Bribing came, Skarr was one of the easiest cartoons to convince and soon became Grievous' right-hand man. Skarr is known for his cruel and villainous deeds as well as his brutal effectiveness.

General Vladimir Plasmius/Masters: A rich and evil villain easily convinced to join the Loyalists during the Great Bribing. Vlad Masters was a half ghost who named his ghost side Plasmius. Masters put his personal fortune into the Loyalist cause to attain a position of power. Plasmius travels around in his ghost form most of the time and most do not know he is also Vlad Masters. Arch-villain of Danny Phantom and third in line to receive the throne.

Colonel Merchant: A villager of a small Spanish town that came under the Las Plagas incident, he lived in the Video Game Kingdom until joined up with Commander Alex and the Loyalist cause after being "permitted" to leave by President Wesker. Merchant was a great weapons dealer in the Two-Day War thanks to his black-market connections and the League of Merchants. Merchant was one of Grievous' most trusted men. When not in the Capital, Merchant preferred the relative solitude out in the Desert Zone, particularly in the area near Nowhere.

Colonel Squilliam Fancyson: A rich and jerk octopus whose personal finances and financial connections lead him to being sought out by the Loyalists. Once promised his personal finances would not be touched, Squilliam happily joined up with the Loyalist cause and promoted himself to Colonel. Squilliam is very lazy and often relies on others to do his own work for him. Squilliam would much prefer to laze around and be pampered rather than do any sort of fighting.

Colonel Jonny 2x4: Once a kid from a small cul-de-sac who had no friends but a piece of wood, he became a deadly assassin working for Alex during the time of the Great Bribing. Jonny went insane during that time and became a very deadly killer and a skilled torturer. His swimming skills led him to become the top swimmer of all the Loyalists and head of all aquatic missions.

Colonel William Shatner (This version of Shatner has not been featured in any cartoons, so he is not the same as the one from Futurama, Family Guy, etc.): Though other cartoon versions of Shatner exist in Cartoon Land, this Shatner's origins are relatively unknown. He killed the other, more pathetic versions of Shatner during the time of the Great Bribing and became one of the members of the inner circle of Loyalists. Shatner is very effective and incredibly loyal. Though he has the same quirky speech pattern as some of his namesakes, there is nothing funny to be associated with this version of the famous actor. Shatner has destroyed several rebel bases almost single-handed.

Commander Alex: Alex originally started life in the Fiction World as a homeless man who had nothing and came from nothing. He was approached by a group who claimed they would help him and make him something that would be feared. A tyrant whose sole purpose is to create a perfect world with his "brethren," the mysterious benefactors that helped bring the Loyalist regime from the ground up. He led the Loyalists on the campaign that started the Two-Day War and won. He used his cruel leadership to prevent any citizens from leading decent lives unless they worship him. Blue eyes, shiny black hair, and the big scar on his face are his distinguishing characteristics as well as his vicious temper.

Private Sheen Estevez (Deceased): A hyper-active soldier who made many mistakes but still got the job done on occasion, Sheen was originally from the area of Retroville. After he and his friends failed to liberate the prisoners from their old hometown, Sheen volunteered to go to the Capital to gain more experience. Arnold trusted in him even if he could be a bit of an annoyance at times. Sheen was shot to death during the meeting with Grim.

Colonel Arnold (Deceased): A level-headed Colonel who lead his forces on the eastern edge of the Capital. Arnold was trusted to head to the secret meeting with Grim and brought Private Estevez with him. Arnold was killed after he was flung into a wooden cabinet after being choked out by Grievous.

General Grim (The Grim Reaper): Grim is the head General of the rebellion and one of the main leaders of the Rebel High Command. Even before becoming General he led many troops on many victories and even survived the Two-Day War as being a part of the Cartoon Air Force. Grim quickly found the small rebellion right after the war and joined up, rising through the ranks throughout the years and becoming one of the most well-liked and well-respected members of the rebellion. Other rebels are often suggested to follow Grim's orders no matter what the cost.

Colonel Edd aka Double D: Edd was one of many kids that lived in a small cul-de-sac before the Loyalist coup. After the coup he and his friends eventually joined up with the rebellion as Double D quickly shot up in the ranks and became one of the top strategists of the rebellion. One of the key rebel figures that helps create many plans and ideas. His plans are almost as good as Grim's (and sometimes better, but Grim won't admit it).

Private Billy (Deceased): A stupid soldier who Grim brought along only because was forced to do it. His actions brought about the deaths of him and Mandy. Killed himself with a grenade during the Fight at the Cooplowski House much to the delight of the freed Grim.

Private Mandy (Deceased): An evil but smart girl who sided with the good at the time of the Two-Day War. She hung around with Billy and was co-owner of Grim until her death. Billy brought about her death as well as his own with a grenade during the Fight at the Cooplowski House.

Harold "Coop" Cooplowski (Deceased): Self-proclaimed owner and restorer of MEGAS and a skilled pilot but known for being overweight and a bit of a slob. He and MEGAS helped keep areas of the nation safe until MEGAS was damaged during the Two-Day War. For many years he was unable to fully repair the robot due to many of the parts not being readily available. Coop and friends officially joined up with the rebellion to help try and oust Alex. Coop was unfortunately killed by Storm Droids during the Fight at the Cooplowski House.

Jamie (Deceased): Friend and sidekick of Coop often known for being a slacker and a self-proclaimed "ladies' man," Jamie was right alongside him for many of the battles and died with his friends during the Fight at the Cooplowski House.

Kiva Andru (Ex-Commander): Originally joined the Loyalist cause during the Great Bribing but forced to work as a receptionist directly under Command Alex. Kiva was stripped of her Commander rank and she defected to the rebellion, helping obtain several of the last parts needed to rebuild MEGAS. She lost both of her friends after MEGAS was destroyed and joined the other three rebels going down the tunnel to another safe house.

Storm Droids (Very few destroyed, majority still functioning): Commander Alex requested plans for a new fighting force to eventually replace his cartoon Loyalist troops after a majority of the Loyalist officers were killed by the Exiled Bunch. Alex was soon gifted plans by The Master for a combination of Stormtroopers and B1 Battle Droids. Like their namesakes, the Storm Droids are not the best shots but are much easier to command and very easy to mass produce along with blasters to help better arm the Loyalist cause.

Ending note: This is DEFINITELY not the original story but my revised and re-edited one. And some of you will wonder where Cosmo and Wanda's bios are but they will be in the next one. See you in part 2.
