In Twilight Town, the sky was eternally beautiful. Nuances of gold, red, and an effulgence of peony would creep between the folds of the drapes and illuminate the room.

Demyx loved it, but it was more beautiful in Luxord's room. It was obvious that an intellectual such as Luxord adored the clear, crisp, white elegance in fine music. And so, it was equally obvious that Demyx would be welcome in Luxord's chambers so long as he played well. Demyx tried his best, pouring out the rich notes on his sitar like fine wine. This would become a routine in itself, creating a veil of invisible intimacy between the two Nobodies.

One day, when Luxord was playing solitaire, and Demyx was idly plucking the strings on his sitar, he blurted out, "I want to get better at playing the sitar!"

His voice echoed unaturally loud in the stone room.

Luxord raised one finely chiseled eyebrow.

"I...uh..I mean," Demyx stammered, tan visage turning rosy.

"I mean that, nobody really wants to hear me play. So I'm glad that you like to listen."

Luxord finally stopped looking at his game and placed a thoughtful hand on his chin.

"When I get better, somebody will really like it. And I'll like it too, since it makes me feel..."

Luxord walked over to Demyx, and sat gracefully down next to him.

"You're right," Luxord said quietly, removing the hand from his chin, "there is a Nobody that likes to listen to you play.

But you'll get better, right?

And then we'll both become Somebody."

Demyx's blush darkened, but Luxord spurred on putting an arm behind Demyx and effectively trapping him to the stone wall. "It's not enough for me, though. I don't have a heart, but I'll work on it. So what do you say? Will you share yours with me?"

Demyx considered this. It wouldn't be that different than now, so he decided,

" I would give it to you, if that's what it takes."

Luxord was leaning in now, his eyelids obscuring his blue eyes, softer now. Demyx pulled in as well, slipping a hand under Luxord's cloak to caress, whispery soft on the man's chest where something very faint, was pulsing rapidly.
