Me- MUAHAH! I'm staring a NEW story without having told ANYONE!

Gaara- You told me.

Me- Well, duh, you're my husband. How could I NOT tell you…

Gaara- …

Me- …

Deidara- IT'S ABOUT ME! YAY!

Me- Yep! It is! Oh, and those of you who are confuzzled about Deidara's gender… Deidara's gender is sometimes confused due to the Japanese language's sparse use of third person pronouns, which forces translators to use their own ideas of Deidara's gender to make sentences flow smoothly. His current anime voice is significantly lighter, but still clearly. This caused a lot of confusion, since both "he" and "she" were used to refer to Deidara in early English fan translations. However, Deidara speaks of himself using male pronouns and was initially given a very deep, male voice in the anime. There ya have it.

Deidara- Thank you!
Me- YEP YEP!

Deidara walked slowly out of the Akatsuki main base. Which, wasn't really a BASE at all. It was more like a cave. Because it was. He huffed in frustration.

'A new partner…eh?' He already didn't like him. Because of the name.

'Tobi'. It was such an ugly name.

Sasori was lucky…in a disgusting manner. His death means his puppet jutsus' were far from save. Locked away in his thoughtless, now dead mind. Such a shame, really. They seemed fun.

Not that explosive clay was wasn't fun, mind you.

'I like exploding things…'

He soon found himself at a lake. The water was a deep blue, almost black. The second base. It wasn't the actual lake. A small, unnoticeable hole lingered under the thick, lily covered surface. Deidara pulled out a kunai and flicked it to a nearby tree indifferently. He then disappeared into the lake.

Kisame looked up from a dark corner as Deidara flicked into sight.

"What'd he say?" He snarled.

Deidara gave him an impassive look.

"I have a new partner," he stated. Kisame raised an eyebrow.

"What happened to Sasori no dana?"

Deidara scoffed. "No need to call him that anymore. He's dead. My new partner is Tobi."

Kisame smirked. "What a shame for you…"

Deidara glared at him.

"You wanna join Sasori? I'm sure he'll be great company."

"You would know. You always clung to him like a lovesick puppy."

"I'll toss you on a frying pan where you can flop around."

"I'm sure that wound go quite well with Leader."

"He would be highly amused by your blue ashes-,"

"Stop." Itachi cut in, staring at them from a dark hall. Deidara and Kisame exchanged a last glare before the blonde stalked to his room. "I'm sure you just love the new base, Kisame. Plenty of your little scaly friends swimming around with their ugly little gills and-,"

"Deidara…," Itachi growled, annoyed.

"Don't grow-up, little boy!" Kisame called as Deidara slammed his door. "You're just to cute!"

Itachi glared at him. "You only provoke him, I hope you know that."

Kisame smirked. "I try my best."

Deidara read over the letter that Leader had given him. He was supposed to give it to the others, but they could wait until morning.

Your new mission is to go after the Kyuubi vessel. I am assigning 2 groups, since the last try was not accomplished. Deidara, Tobi, Itachi, and Kisame will all be going.

Before you attack him, you will take out all ANBU members, along with the Hokage. Make sure his friends are unable to help him. Also, take out the second Sannin. He will be a hard opponent.

Be prepared for this mission. I want you ready in 4 days. You will leave on that morning, and arrive that evening. Once it is dark, make your move. I don't care what it takes. Do not come back without him.

Deidara grinned.

'Oh, this will be fun.'

His clay falcon gave an ear-piercing screech. 'Yes, my friend. Horrible fun…'

Don't worry, Deidara has a nicer side. He's just exited to kill. Another preview. I'm gonna start this when I'm done wounds that won't heal.

Jah-neh!
