Mason was walking to his next class humming along the tune he remembered from a popular song he had been listening to on the radio, when his humming was taken over by crying. He stopped abruptly turning towards the closest door and noticed a Cheerio blonde crying in the choir room. It wasn't till he got closer that he realized it was Kitty.

"Kitty?" He asked, coming into the room. As the bell rang she looked up at him clearly embarrassed when she tried to wipe away her tears from her face.

"Oh Mason, I didn't realize-" She started to move but he put his hand up to her chest and she bumped into it. He had to ignore the feeling of her soft breasts so close to his hand as she looked up at him with green eyes full of new tears.

"What's wrong?" He asked whispering.

"Nothing." She said refusing to answer.

"Tell me." He said, placing his other hand on her shoulder guiding her to sit down by the piano.

"I just, everyone in Glee Club had their lives figured out. Artie, Rachel, Kurt, Blaine, even Sam. But what about me? Everyone forgot about me?" She said sobbing. He pulled her into his chest and let her cry, Kurt was in Rachel's office watching of course but wasn't saying anything.

"I always noticed you. The head cheerleader, god me and Maddy could only imagine to be what you are. Even Sue is a little bit of afraid of you." Mason said and Kitty laughed.

"I'm sure she's terrified." Kitty said.

"I'm serious." Mason said, pulling her back so that their eyes could meet.

"But even you and Jane-" Kitty began to say but was cut off with the feeling of Mason's lips pressed against hers. She moved forward, pressing him back into the piano.

He moved to hold her face in his hands, and she smiled against his lips. He felt bliss, and started to hum the tune again. Kitty pulled back laughing. "Are you singing?"

"Humming, there's a difference, my love." Mason said.

"So what were you humming then?" Kitty asked.

Smile, the worst is yet to come. We'll be lucky if we ever see the sun Got nowhere to go, we could be here for a while. But the future is forgiven, so smile. As he sang, he moved off the piano pushing Kitty back almost like he was singing to her and then without noticing the band started to play.

We're trying so hard to get it all right. But only feel lonely at the end of the night. And I wanna be somewhere away from this place. Yeah, somewhere just a little closer to grace. He sang smoothly, right in her ear as if there was nowhere else to move his lips. As the beat picked up again Kitty joined.

Well, call me loser, call me thief. Tell me I'm special when you spit at me. 'Cause I don't wanna be lonely, I wanna be loved. And I want you to hold me like I'm the only one. As she sang the last line, Mason embraced her hoping to bring her closer to him. He held her waist with one hand and her hand with the other spinning around the room.

Smile, the worst is yet to come. We'll be lucky if we ever see the sun. Got nowhere to turn, and we've got nothing but time. But the future is forever, the future is forever, so smile. They danced and laughed happily enjoying each other's company. Mason brought her even closer to him as the last line of the song came around and when it finished he kissed her again.

"So smile." He whispered as the music stopped.

Kitty laughed, and the two stood there in each other's arms until the bell rang again. Kitty laughed as Mason's eyes grew to the size of saucers. "I skipped a class."

"Yeah, you little rebel." Kitty said narrowing her eyes.

"As long as I'm your little rebel." Mason said doing the same with his eyes.

"Really?" Kitty laughed.

"Sounded better in my head." Mason said.

"Always does." Kitty kissed him a third time.
