Background: After her human father abandoned his family, B'Elanna was taken to the Southern Cat Demon Tribe by her demon mother. The young girl grew up strong-willed and independent, but her human side caused conflicts. After her mother died she was sent to her father's royal family where she lasted until her demon side caused her to have problems with other royals and servants. She ran away when she overheard her Grandparents talking about how Naraku had killed her father. She was 17 at this time.
6 weeks later she was in a village following a lead on Naraku when she was attacked. The InuYasha gang showed up and fought off Naraku. B'Elanna told them of her story and they were more than willing to let her join them. B'Elanna just like InuYasha, had to learn to trust and to work alongside others.
One of B'Elanna's hardest encounters was when she met Horitomaru. She is forced to deal with opposing parts of her heritage when he splits her demon and human sides into two separate beings and sends her,along with the others, to a prison camp. The internal struggle between her intellect and her emotions becomes a desperate battle for survival in which the Demon B'Elanna and the Human B'Elanna must work together, to find a way to regenerate into one body.
