This is actually an older fic I wrote when Uriel first appeared...and I just found it now! No real spoilers. And as usual, I do not own Supernatural. Do I? No. I don't.
Interview with the Angels
"So," I say, sitting on my tall, three-legged stool. The two angels I am interviewing stare warily at me, motionless and definitely not trusting.
I smile. They grimace.
"So." I say again. Castiel leans forward a bit, as if to give me permission to continue. "You're angels."
"Yes. I thought that's why we're here." says Castiel, confusion written on his face.
"It is."
"Oh."
"We shouldn't be here!" mutters Uriel darkly, moving to get up. Castiel throws an arm out, catching his companion's.
"Hold on, she doesn't seem to be a threat."
I smile nervously, fidgeting with my nails. Uriel gives me a glare before sitting back down slowly. Castiel nods at me with a look that says 'that was a close one'. I cough.
"What about those Winchester boys?"
"I hate them both."
"I think they have great potential."
"They are reckless and stupid."
"Well, they do try…"
"Don't argue, Castiel."
"I'm not arguing…I am merely stating that I pulled Dean out of hell because the Lord commanded it, not because I simply felt like taking a walk downstairs!"
"Um, guys…angels? Angels?"
"Yes. We are angels. We've already established that!"
"I know, I was just trying to get your…attention…" they were already staring silently at me.
"What do you do for fun?"
"Fun? Oh, we don't have fun."
"None?"
"None."
"Okay…what do you think of Dean Winchester in particular?" Castiel looks at his hands, scratching at an invisible spot. Uriel just glowers some more. "Um…what about Sam?"
Silence again.
"Well, his hands are cold." mutters Castiel. Uriel and I both turn to stare at him. The angel glances up as if he wasn't aware that he had spoken aloud. "Well, when I had to shake his hand…it was….cold."
"I don't 'shake hands' with humans."
"That's nice." I say, keeping all sarcasm out of my voice.
"He's a good man, I suppose. When he's not…you know." Castiel imitates exorcising a demon to illustrate his point.
"I see."
"Indeed."
"This is pointless."
"Oh, Uriel, she has good intentions."
"Personally, I don't like the look of her." Uriel glares at me, and I can feel the blood rushing to my head.
"You know what? I think we're just out of time! Too bad." I squeak. Castiel nods in my direction as if to say, 'good idea'. I nod back and turn to Uriel, but he's already gone. I look back to Castiel. Also gone.
I scoff. "What a load of--!"
