LOVE IS A FOUR LETTER WORD
Love is a four letter word.
It has no meaning, no substance, no shame,
So I dare not use it in my vocabulary.
I find much more useful words of the same length
Like kill, maim, hell, heat, cold, hate, fire.
Even my name is more useful than the infernal word.
It is not a pit, so I cannot fall in it.
It is one syllable long and yet it seems like the hardest thing for them to say
And half the time they don't mean it;
Idiots.
A more suited word could be admire,
Or respect,
Or even the phrase "I don't hate you", which connotes the same thing,
And I dare not utter the words "I- - - - you".
Especially because I would not mean it.
Besides, it's overrated anyway.
