Chocolate Pudding
Winky has funny eyes. Well, of course Dobby should not call other people's eyes strange. Dobby has big green eyes, not emerald green like Harry Potter, no, Dobby's are green and shiny like pondweed. But Winky eyes are large and soft and the colour of chocolate pudding. Dobby likes chocolate pudding but he likes to watch Winky make chocolate pudding more than he likes to eat it. When Winky makes chocolate pudding, she hums to herself and gets chocolate on her nose. Dobby thinks that only when Winky is making pudding or cakes she is not thinking about her master. Dobby is always sad when Winky is sad, and Winky is sad a lot of the time, so that means Dobby is nearly always sad, too.
Dobby wants to show Winky that being free is not shameful like she thinks it is. Dobby wants to make Winky happy. Because Dobby has always loved Winky, why, he has known Winky since they were little house elves playing in the garden while their parents was working. And when Dobby was freed and could not get a paid job, Winky was the first house elf friend he went to see. Dobby was very happy when he found out Winky was free too because he thought that maybe they could go and live in a little house together, and work together, and love each other for ever and ever. But Winky was not happy to be free, and poor Dobby could not comfort her. Even now when we work at Hogwarts together, Winky never notices that Dobby still loves her with all his heart, and so Dobby will just have to keep smiling at her, and hoping for her, and watching her when she is making chocolate pudding and getting chocolate on her nose.
