Some say that the pants brought us closer too each other. Personally I think we're closer because we had to. The pants just watched it all happen. We've changed since the first summer we had the pants, basically since we had too.
Lena had to do some major growing up after the love of her life (Kostas) went off and married a girl because he got her pregnant. Lena still loves him of course but she won't wreck his marriage.
Tibby has had to overcome people around her dying, it wasn't easy but she made it through. When Tibby lost Bailey, her 12 year old friend fighting with Leukemia she knew her life would never really be the same. Then she met Brian McBrian, He changed her life. According To Bailey he was a "decent guy" Which meant the world to her knowing that Bailey was watching over her saying "she finally listened to me.
Then we have Bridget Vreeland also known as Bee. One word to describe her would be Energetic. Bee never stopped, she was either here or there never sitting still. I think she described it as her "need to feel alive" since her mother was so "dead". When the girls were 14 Bridget's mom…killed herself. That's the easiest way too say it. Bee used to say "she passed away" but that's not true. She died; if you're "passing away" you might re-pass by. Right? That first summer was a hard one for Bee being the first summer without her mom; it was also the first summer with the pants. That summer Bee went to Baja California. It's in Mexico! There Bee met Eric, The best and worst moment of her life. Eric made her feel things she had NEVER felt before. He was her first (and only). Now three years later Bee and Eric are back together.
Now to me, Carmen. I Am 18 (almost 19) I got to Williams University. The first summer with the pants was interesting for me since I thought I was going to hang with my single father. NOT! He was getting married to "Lydia" with her "blonde freaks" but after getting too know them I don't hate them. Then the next summer my mother re-married to David (I almost broke them up!) Oh and the third summer was the best for me (and Lenny) Lenny met Paul (my Step Bro who NEVER talks) and I think she fell in love with him and him with her. She's coming to South Carolina with me this summer to visit with Paul. She couldn't go to Greece with her family, too many memories of. You know, Kostas. I also have an awesome boyfriend named Win that I met in the hospital (of all places!) while taking care of Lena's grandmother Vaila after Bapi died. But Vaila went back to Greece where she belonged, she never really liked it here.
So this year we all went off to college (whoopee ) I went to Williams, Tibby to NYU, Bridget to Brown and Lena to RISD. But now the sisterhood is back, prepared for another summer together and apart.
