Random one-shot based on the prompt 'I once dreamed about...'. A happy moment for our favorite CTU staff! I find it easier to write fluff than angst right now... Anyways, read, enjoy (or not), and pretty please review. This was fun to write ^.^
"You know, I once dreamed about becoming an astronaut when I was a kid," the blond field agent said randomly to the small group hiding out in the break room.
"Really?" Chloe asked. Jack nodded.
"I always wanted to be a cowboy and do cool stuff; like cattle roping bad guys," Tony inputted.
"I always wanted to be a fairy princess," Michelle said with a shy smile.
"You can be my fairy princess," Tony grinned.
"My dream job was to own a chocolate factory like Willy Wonka," said Curtis.
"What did you dream of becoming, Chlo'?" Jack asked.
"Promise not to laugh?" she asked the group. They all assured her they wouldn't. She sighed, "Okay, I dreamt of someday becoming a pop star sensation." Her face flushed slightly.
"That's a great idea! Wish I had thought of that when I was little," Michelle pouted ever so slightly.
"Yeah, well, it's Chase's turn," Chloe said.
"When I was about eleven or twelve I had an obsession with the idea of this job," Chase smirked.
"What was it?" Curtis asked.
"I wanted to be a teen pop sensation when I grew up too," he laughed. Chloe playfully slapped his arm, but she couldn't hide her grin. "Seriously though, I wanted to be a spy/secret agent man."
"Looks like you managed to land your dream job. Congratulations," Jack clapped him on the shoulder.
"I don't know if he's the only one. I mean Michelle is my princess."
"And I've heard Chloe sing in the shower," Chase winked, causing Chloe to blush and scowl at him.
"Tony does get to rope in some bad guys," Michelle offered.
"And Jack you've been in the sky in helicopters and planes a hell of a lot. It's the closest thing to being in space without actually being in it," Curtis said.
"So I guess Curtis is the only one without a piece of his dream…," Jack frowned for a second before his face lit up. The others looked at him quizzically for a minute before he spoke again. "We can make chocolate! We have a stove here, all we need is to go out and buy some chocolate making stuff and the recipe and viola!" Jack was practically bouncing up and down. "There, everyone gets their dreams fulfilled."
"Not quite everyone," came a voice from the door. Everybody jumped and spun around to see Bill with a frown on his face. "I have this insane dream that my employees will actually work! Could you imagine that?" They all exchanged guilty glances. "Get back to your real jobs people," Bill ordered.
The group reluctantly gathered themselves and marched away from the break room, under the watchful eye of Buchanan.
Jack leaned in and whispered in Curtis's ear, "Don't worry, we'll just have to make some candy tomorrow."
The two boys smiled on the way to the floor of CTU.
