Mourning Amy's room
Amy stepped in the other room of her house where Shadow was sleeping peacefully, she sat next to him, smiling at him. "Maria..." Amy eyes widened, she stared at the floor, upset. She got up and walked out of the room, closed the door which made a little screech. Shadow rose up, he rubbed his eyes. "Hm?" He got up from his bed and went to the bathroom. When he was done he walked to the bathroom, Shadow walked into the kitchen, there was a big breakfast, Amy was eating pancakes slowly. Shadow sat next to her.
"Is something wrong?"
"Of course not!"
Shadow frowned at her, his eyes were partly closed. "Your lying to me..."
"I..." She stuffed his mouth with a big piece of the omelet, she got up from her chair and washed the dishes. Shadow was trying to swallow, as soon as he did he hugged Amy from behind. She blushed slightly. "Why won't you tell me what's wrong?..." The tone of his voice sounded very hurt. "It's that-"
The phone rang, she slid down his grasp and ran to the phone. Shadow walked slowly behind her. "Hello?"
"Amy, it's Tails. Can you and Shadow come to the Mystic Ruins, I'm working on a project that I have to show you!"
"Of course. Bye."
"Bye."
Shadow looked at the phone. "Do I have to come?..."
Amy nodded. Shadow sighed and ate the rest of the meal left on the table.
Half way to the mystic ruins
Amy was staring at the ground, not noticing Shadow kept staring at her. He hesitated at first but held her hand in his, Amy took her hand away from him
"Amy?..." This time he really sounded hurt.
She said nothing, tears streamed down her cheeks. "It's that... What happen if you saw someone more beautiful than me? Will you just leave me?"
Shadow smirked. "Is that what was troubling you? You know I'll never do that. I don't care about looks, what's inside counts."
"Do you still have feelings for someone you once knew?..."
Shadows ears perked up. "Excuse me?"
"Like... Maria..."
"I do... But I have stronger feelings for you Amy, nothing can ever change that..."
She hugged him tight, and he hugged her back. Amy let go of him and kissed him. Shadow closed his eyes and deepen the kiss.
Mystic Ruins
Amy and Shadow walked in Tails lab. Everybody was sitting down, half asleep.
"What took you so long!?" The little fox said.
"Long story..." Amy said and she sat down. Shadow sat next to her.
"Behold my friends!"
Everybody woke up form there nap and stared at Tail's invention which was still covered up. Tails pulled the covers, It was a giant rectangular metal machine.
"What is it?" Sonic asked.
"It's a sort of rebirth machine. But how I test it, well a clone could show, or a reborn of some sort of being. I just need DNA, anyone would like to volunteer?"
Rouge was sitting right behind Shadow, she raised Shadow's hand up. "Here's your volunteer." Shadow growled but gave up.
"Come up here Shadow."
He sighed. Shadow rose up from his seat and walked next to the fox. Tails plucked a strand of his hair (quill, hair, whatever.) When Tails plucked the strand it was blonde. "Blonde? How could that be? It doesn't matter." Tails put the strand of the hair in a small case. He pressed the blue button. At first nothing happened, but then there was a blinding light.
Everybody shut their eyes.
"Shadow... Is that you?.."
Shadow eyes were still closed, his ears perked up. "That voice... Can it be?..."
