They kept on going, they couldn't let you stay.
They locked you up, while you were sedated,
What to do with you, they debated.
They tore you apart, inside and out,
While you were awake, with no power to shout,
They tied you down, doing as they pleased,
They destroyed you, remaining unappeased,
You escaped, they tried to run,
But they were gone, before the morning sun.
An animal inside, flew through the darkest of dreams,
You were torn like a toy, falling apart at the seams,
You flew from the scene, feeling tired and aged,
You ran through the trees like a beast uncaged.
You found solitude in a building of old,
There you'd find peace, your instincts foretold.
Still there you remain, after all this time,
You can live out your years and rejoice in life's prime.
For now you live and now you can love,
Seeing the gifts god sent from above.
And there you'll stay, dear friend of mine,
For you'll always have purpose,
