I was chatting to my brother and we realised that Phoenix Wright's life was rather depressing. I wrote this.
DISCLAIMER: I - I- I don't own it, ok? *Sob*

At age 9 Phoenix Wright was accused of stealing another child's lunch money. He had to attend a "class trial", which was wrongly used as an excuse to insult and ridicule him further. That same year, his best friend, Miles Edgeworth, moves away.

We don't hear much of him until 2012, when Phoenix is 20 years old. He meets future girlfriend, Dahlia Hawthorn, who is really just using him to hide evidence relating to a murder she has just attempted to commit. The next year he is accused of murdering her ex-boyfriend, Doug Swallows, although it was Dahlia herself who did the deed. She is sent to prison.

Three years pass, and Phoenix trains to become a lawyer. His first case is a murder trial, and his other best friend, Larry Butz is the defendant. He does not get paid, although his mentor, Mia Fey, does get a clock.

That same year, his mentor is murdered using that very clock. He attempts to defend her sister, Maya Fey, and ends up getting himself convicted. He defends himself - the prosecution is Miles Edgeworth, his childhood friend. He seems to hate him.

Phoenix gets off and forms a close friendship with Maya Fey, who then leaves. Phoenix is too depressed to take any cases, but does take one simply because the defendant's sister reminds him of Maya. After the case, he find's Edgeworth's suicide note. Phoenix is deeply upset.

Several months later he is reunited with his friend Maya, but has to defend her against the charge of murder again. Several months after that, Maya is kidnapped and Phoenix is blackmailed into taking the case of a guilty client. He saves her and gets the murderer convicted. Also, Miles Edgeworth was just pretending to kill himself.

A year passes without any big troubles, but then it all hits off after Maya gets stuck in a channelling chamber in sub-zero temperatures and Phoenix falls of a burning bridge into strong currents below. He survives, and is thrown into defending a woman who may or may not be his evil ex-girlfriend.

Later that year Phoenix accidently presents forced evidence and has his badge taken from him. He ends up with an adoptive 8-year-old daughter and none of his old friends ever speak to him again.
