The ringing phone filled her head with dread. Her hand shoot out from under blankets as her hand blindly searched for the cell phone near her bed. Without opened her eyes, she pulled the phone under the blankets, and bought the phone to her ear.
"Willows," she said after attempting to clear the sleep out of her voice.
"Hey Cath," she heard Nick's southern accent creep through the phone, "Sorry to wake you."
"What's up Nick?"
"I've got something that I need you to look at. I need your expertise in blood splatter."
She sighed, "And this can't wait?"
"I wouldn't call if it could. I just need you for about an hour," he said.
"Okay. I'm on my way," she replied.
"Thanks Cath."
"Mmhm," she replied before hanging up and tossing the phone somewhere under her blankets. "I just love my job," she mumbled.

Forty-five minutes later Catherine Willows pulled into her regular parking spot at CSI headquarters. The sun was just coming up, creating a morning glow on Las Vegas.
She pulled out her cell phone and dialed Nick's number as she signed into the log in sheet at the front desk.
"Hey Nicky. Where am I going?"
"I put everything in your office."
"Ok. Thanks," She said. She made her way to her office; giving acknowledging nods to the incoming day shift CSI's.
She unlocked her door and opened it, then turned the lights off. She stopped dead in her tracks before she closed the door all the way behind her. Her body froze before she could register what was happening.
On the couch in her office sat Gil Grissom. He sat as if he had been waiting for hours.
"Catherine…" he said standing up.
"G-Gil," she stuttered. "What… are you doing here?"
"I came to see you," he replied immediately regretting his answer. "I…"
"You came 6,000 miles to see me?"
"Surprise," he replied with a shrug.
Catherine slowly closed the door behind her and dropped her purse on the floor near the door.
"Let me guess, Nick was in on this?"
"Yes, he helped me," he replied. He tried to read the emotion on her face. "Catherine, I've missed you."
She shook her head, trying the keep the tears hidden behind her blue eyes. "Don't say that," she replied.
"It's the truth. I had to come and see you," he said taking a step towards her.
"No," she said, "You're supposed to be missing Sara, not me. Not me."
"Why not you?" he asked. "Why can't I miss the woman I love?"
"Love?" she asked pausing and the tears slowly rolled down her cheeks.
"Yes," he said with a smile. He stepped in front of her and brushed a bang behind her ear. "Catherine Willows, I love you and it took being 6,000 miles away for me to realize it." He leaned down and pressed his lips gently to hers. Catherine felt her eyes slip close and her arms wind around his neck. He deepened the kiss, pulling her body close to his.
"I take it, you missed me too?" he asked.
"Very much. And Gil, I love you too."
"Good, because I only bought a one way ticket," he replied.
A/N: How was it? I tried not to be too angsty because I'm not in the mood for it. Please review! Reviews make me happy!
