Ward made his may his to the lab, just to check up on Simmons. As he opened the door, she was walking out and before he could say anything to her, the Bus jolted causing Ward to trip and knock him and Simmons over in the process, landing on top of her.
She let out a small groan from where she had knocked her head and her eyes met Ward, her heart beating faster and a blush forming on her cheeks. She had never expected to get this close to the Specialist. He stood up, and offered his hand to her, which she gladly accepted and let him pull her to her feet.
"Sorry Jemma, are you okay?" He asked, like the whole ordeal had never happened in that way at all.
"I'm fine." She nodded, holding the back of her head. There was no blood, but she could feel a bump there, after all she hadn't had exactly had a soft landing like he had.
"Well, I uh- just came to check if you were done with the tests." Ward told her, remembering the reason that he had actually come to see the scientist.
"Oh. Sure, I'm all done." She nodded, her cheeks still a light pink as she moved over to the lab table and brought up the results of the test on the holo table and began explaining what it all meant, but Ward wasn't looking at the tests. His eyes were on her, just wondering what it would be like to kiss her. To hold her. Of course he would never find out. She would never be interested in him and he couldn't hurt her. Or so he thought. The truth was, she wondered about him a lot, wondered what it would be like to actually be with a guy like him, of course the two of them never spoke about how they felt to anyone, they always kept it to themselves.
Yet, Simmons wondered if Ward wondered about her and Ward wondered if Simmons wondered about him.
