"Finally, last session one more hour and we're out of this hell-hole, woo-hoo!" James shouted next to me. I looked over at him with a 'Shut the hell up!' look and he got the idea. I looked in-front of me to see Liam looking back at me and I blushed the hardest I ever had before I quickly looked down at my work and hoped he hadn't realized. When class finished I was the first to pack up and leave the class in a rush of embarrassment. I ran to my training center hoping I wouldn't be late for my pro-bending practice. When I arrived, Kayla, my coach gave me a stern look. I got into my gear and went into the training arena. It was a large open area with banners of all the teams surrounding it, along with trophies and medals. I looked around in amazement, I had been in here many times but it still struck me with its size. I walked over to Kayla and stood next to her whilst she practiced with Lana, the earth-bender of my team. Kayla looked to me and stopped practicing with Lana.
"Cody! Where have you been?" She growled. "I'm sorry… I got… caught up with work at school!" I quickly replied. I knew she didn't believe me but she turned away anyway.
"Zach left!" She said.
"What? Why?" I asked.
"He had sick family overseas and he had to fly over." She said sadly. "Luckily we've got a new member joining our team to fill in Zach's spot. He goes by the name of Liam… he will be joining later tonight, for now we practice!" She finishes. I feel like I'm about to faint but Kayla grabs my shoulder and looks me in the eye, "You ok?" she asks.
"Yeah… I'm, fine." I reply.
"Ok, then we practice!" She shouts. I stood at the other end of the arena dodging and blocking her shots she threw at me. About half an hour later I hear the door open behind me. I turn around swiftly to see Liam standing there followed with a hit on the head from one of Lana's stone-circles. I fall to the ground to hear Liam running towards me to help me up. I look up at him and blush. I knew I couldn't hide it this time because Lana shouts out.
"This is the Liam you have a crush on? The one in your math class that you sit behind?" She looked at Liam and smiled a smile that lasted only a few seconds until she realized she said it out loud. I looked up at Liam and felt my-self burning up, I looked at my hands and fire started to emerge from my fingertips. Everyone backed away apart from Liam who sat there smiling at me. He brushed his fingers through my hair and stood up to walk away. I stood up but fell back onto the ground.
I woke up staring at a blur of a white ceiling and a mess of blonde hair, when my vision returned to me and I realized it was Liam I smiled up at him remembering our last encounter. He lent down and kissed me on the head holding my hand next to the bed.
