Disclaimer: I do not own any part of The 100, and I'm grateful to those who do for creating this universe and story. Reading bellarke fanfics has been helping me get through a difficult time in my life, and I hope that my fanfic will bring some enjoyment to people's lives. :)

...

Clarke didn't know how long she spent in the white room, but it didn't take her long to figure out that she was being kept sedated. She wasn't sure how they did it, but she would frequently wake up without remembering when she went to sleep. Every time she woke up she would find an IV in her arm. They must be drugging me. One time she managed to pull the IV out just enough that it was still connected, but the drug was not going directly into her bloodstream. On that day, pretending to be unconscious, she heard them.

"Do you think she is still human?" A man asked, his voice was muffled but Clarke could tell he was young.

"I don't know, she spent a long time outside. Many of the others weren't. Have you disposed of their bodies?" The second voice was older, clinical, and much closer to her.

"Yes."

Clarke wanted desperately to see the bodies attached to the voices, but she was afraid that if she so much as opened her eyes then they would see. Still, she could not resist. She took slow, deep breaths to keep her heart rate as low as possible lest they notice she was awake, and then, carefully, slowly, she ever so slightly raised her eyelids.

She saw a man in a white suit, and a man who looked much like the men who took them. Both men were wearing some sort of gas mask. A doctor and a guard. She closed her eyes immediately, continuing to breathe slowly, hoping desperately that they wouldn't notice. The doctor did.

"Miss Griffin. I see that you are awake."

She saw no point in pretending, and she was desperate for answers. She stood up, ripping the IV out of her arm entirely.

"Who are you? What do you want? Why are you keeping me here? Why are you drugging me? What did he mean when he asked if I am still human?" The questions spilled out of her in quick succession.

"Miss Griffin, please relax. Your questions will be answered in time." The doctor responded.

She moved to attack him then, but the guard interceded and held her back.

"Miss Griffin, we are not your enemy. In fact, we very much hope that you will be able to become one of us."

"Us? Who are you?"

"Why, we're the last men left on Earth."

They are insane. Clarke thought, and then the room was spinning around her. She was out.

Author's note: I know I included Bellamy in the character list but he is not in the first chapter. I have plans to write about him later (and maybe I should have posted a longer chapter with him in it, but I guess I wanted to get this chapter out quickly).
