Author's Note:

Okay, so I was reading a story by Lightning Streak and she said it was inspired by a song. So it got me thinking about love songs and... Well here goes. I'll tell you the song in my end note. One shot.

OH YEAH! I've decided to make them both 20 and they are in a grocery store. They've never met before.

This is a fixed version in response to people being confused about my writing. Sorry guys! I usually write in past tense third person omniscient, and I was trying to do present tense first person.

Danny's POV

I walked down the freezer aisle for the third time. I was really starting to get frustrated. Why does Jazz want that stupid fat free ice cream anyway? Why can't she just have like... Fudge, like Dad?

My face lit up. "FAT FREE VANILLA! FINALLY!" A couple of people gave me weird looks. An elderly woman nudged her husband.

"You call me crazy. Get a load of that kid!" I ignored them and continued to Aisle 3. I wasn't paying any attention to what was in front of me as I scanned the shelves. Suddenly I slammed into something, or someone, and was thrown into the cart rail. The wind was knocked out of me and I was catapulted backwards. I looked up to see what I had run into.

There was a girl, about my age, with shoulder length black hair. She had beautiful violet eyes which managed to have concern in them and be laughing at me at the same time. She had a half smile on her face, sort of wondering who would run into someone that was practically on the shelves. She was wearing black and purple with a pair of combat boots.

"Did I die?" I stared up at her dreamily. She giggled.

"Nope, I'm pretty sure your still alive." Or half alive anyway, I thought to myself. She held out her hand, which I accepted, and helped me up.

"I must have mistaken you for an angel," I replied. The girl rolled her eyes. I suddenly looked around me. The contents of my cart were all over the ground, along with the display that used to be in the middle of the aisle. She looked too, and began laughing.

"So..," she said between giggles, "What's… your name? Mine's Sam." I narrowed my eyes slightly, still smiling, and held out my hand.

"Danny, Danny Fenton. Nice to meet you." We shook hands and smiled. There was an awkward silence, which I broke.

"Uh, well, um… Wanna help me pick this stuff up?" I rubbed my neck nervously. Why would someone as beautiful as her want to help me pick up my food? Stupid, stupid, stupid, I mentally berated myself.

"I'd love to!" Sam replied. She knelt down and began placing things in my cart. I wished she would turn around and look at me. I wanted to talk to her face, not her back.

Soon enough all of my things were back in the cart. We left the display where it was. I put up the cans of beans that were rolling down the aisle. I saw her put something in my wallet out of the corner of my eye. I sincerely wished it was her number. Please be her number! She placed my wallet back into the cart.

Creepy as it was, I could already imagine being with her. Her wearing my t-shirts… Walking into a café and having all of the guys in the room look at me with glares of jealousy… I could see it now… I smiled to myself as we walked together to the checkout line.

When I pulled out my wallet to pay, there was a strip of paper with writing scrawled on it. There was a name: Sam written on it in messy cursive and ten little numbers that totally made my day.

The song is You Got It by Family Force 5. You'd have to listen to understand. I hope you liked it! Have a great day, and, as always, REVIEW! Oh, and tell me what you think about the song. ;) Tell me if there is anything else I need to fix. I'm always excited to improve my writing skills! Thanks Lightning Streak, for making me get my butt in gear. :)
