A/N: This is written from Mai's POV. In this one they're just little kids, maybe 7 or 8.
"She is the Fire Lord's daughter," they tell me, "That's why she gets her own room."
"That's stupid," I say, but I am curious so I go to find her. She says her name is Azula and I tell her that I am Mai. Azula tells me about her life. She is upset because she wants to be the Fire Lord but her stupid brother is the crown prince. "Zuko has everything," she says, "Everyone likes him more than me. My uncle, my cousin, even my mom. It's not fair."
Azula also has a friend named Ty Lee who is always happy. They like to play tricks on me, but it's ok. Azula is my friend and Ty Lee does whatever Azula says. Actually, I do too.
We spend all our time together no matter what. Sometimes the teachers try to make us be friends with other people, but Azula says they are all peasants, so we refuse to talk to them.
When Summer comes, I am very sad, but Azula promises to have her daddy invite my family to visit the castle. I think she is also going to invite Ty Lee.
Secretly I hope she doesn't because I want to play with Azula all by my self.
