Gawd I'm such a baby, I'm crying... Listen to My Immortal

Shadow laid on the floor of some unnamed hall in Eggman's base. His wounds were fresh and bleeding rapidly. Yet, despite that the hedgehog was in pain, he was content. His sensitive ears picked up footsteps racing in his direction, but the steps didn't ring as loud as they would've been.
"Shadow!" The voice was recognizable anywhere, yet it felt as if the scream wasn't as loud as it always was. He could feel the pounding steps get closer to him.
"Shadow, please stay awake!" The figures' voice quivered. Who wouldn't after seeing Shadow in such a mess. "Your going to be okay, you are going to live..."
He felt tears drop onto his fur. Shadow felt pressuring hands press onto his wounds, in hope to stop the blood. Sadly, there were to many open areas.
"Please..." The voice was cracked and now a whisper. "Please live."
"It's... going to be... great." Shadow started to speak. He felt the figure move in surprise at his voice.
Shadow broke out in a small smile. "It's... going to be... great. I... I'm finally... going... to see her..."
He could feel the figure pet his head as he took a deep breath. "I... can finally... tell her... all of the things... that have passed."
"Sha... Shadow..." He felt more tear drops.
His eyes started to water. "I can finally... tell her... how Earth was like... all of the great people I met... all of the... great adventures..."
"She's going to be happy... to see you, Shadow."
"I can... finally tell her... how... the grass... felt... How it... was like... to eat... real food." Even to himself, the words felt as if they were being fogged. The tears finally escaped his eyes.
"Most... importantly... I can tell her... about you..."
The figure wept even more. "Shadow..."
Shadow cracked his eyes open, just enough to see the figure. Though he couldn't see any distinct features, the outline was obvious enough. "Thank... you..."
"For w-what?"
But, the answer never came. Shadow finally escaped his living prison.
