Dark Knight

Chapter 1: The voice in my head

Percy didn't know what to do.

Annabeth was gone, Thalia was furious, Artemis and her Huntresses looked at him like he had some sort of mortal plague, and Bianca continued to tremble and still in shock after the just experienced.

"Hey, it's all right…", whispered the son of Poseidon, while putting an arm around the shoulders of the twelve year old girl.

"How can this happen…? I don't know what the hell is happening and… and I'm scarred!", and then she kept crying, her hands covering her red and tired face. Percy understood her her: it all happened so suddenly that even he had difficulties to understand what all that has happened in this night.

"I promise that you'll be save from now on…", whispered the black haired boy again approaching the little girl and continued to whisper comforting words into her ear. He really didn't know what to do in a situation like that.

"Bianca", a voice behind them said and the two turned around to face Zoe Nightshade, the Lieutenant of the Huntresses of Artemis. Her eyes dropped on the young girl to the son of Poseidon with contempt. "Percy Jackson", she said with venom like he was the worse monster that she had ever encountered. "My lady wants to speak with the two of you", Zoe didn't seem pleased with that but orders were orders.

Bianca and Percy followed her in a tent made out of animal furs and they faced a twelve years old girl with silver eyes near a fire.

"Bianca di Angelo, Percy Jackson", she paused for two seconds and turned her attention on each of their faces, but eventually she continued to speak. "I want to know from you two what happened in the school" said the goddess gesturing to them to sit down and so they did.

Percy and Bianca exchanged a look and both began to explain, taking turns. Artemis didn't utter a word for the entire time, but her eyebrows twitched a few times and so did Zoe's.

"Alright", sighed Artemis with a dark look in her silver eyes. "Bianca di Angelo, I desire to speak with you", began the goddess and then her eyes darted over to –or- her gaze snapped over to Percy. "In private" so the boy had to stand up and leave the tent.

He approached Thalia who was sitting on the ground with the arms crossed [on] over the chest.

"How was the Goddess of Hunt?", asked the girl with the blue eyes once Percy had sat down next to her.

"Uhm… she hates me…", sighed the son of Poseidon looking to the sky above them. The wind was cold and he was tired, but he didn't want to go to sleep. He feared the dreams, because demigod dreams weren't nearly as happy as most humans… they made him see the things he feared most.

Thalia laughed and looked straight into his eyes. "Don't worry, she hates all men in this world… the fact that she didn't put a spell on you, so you morphed into some horrid creature is the best result you can get!", and then she continued laughing. But Percy knew that it was a desperate laugh. Annabeth was her friend after all, she was obviously sad about losing her.

After some minutes of complete silence, Bianca left the tent. But she was… different somehow.

"No… no!", whispered Thalia once she met the eyes of the twelve year old and then she stood up with a strange look on her face.

"Thalia, what's wrong?!", asked the son of Poseidon worriedly and stood up, to stand next to the daughter of Zeus.

"They asked me if I wanted to join the hunt…", started Bianca with her voice barely audible. A spark of worry started to grow in the eyes of Percy and he looked straight in the black orbs of the young girl. "And I said yes", whispered the new Huntress finally.

Percy didn't know what to think, he was completely frozen on the spot.

"But… what about the camp?", he asked slowly and his hands began to tremble.

"You're going to the camp now alone", replied a voice behind Bianca and Artemis came out to the darkness and looked at each of them. Next to her, Zoe Nightshade had a dark glare on her face and the arms where crossed over her chest.

"But… how…? And why don't you come with us?", Percy had a blank expression on his face. He didn't know what to think anymore. What would happened to Annabeth? Why was Thalia so angry with the Huntresses? What would happed to Bianca now?

You don't have to think to that now…, came a voice in his mind and he snapped his head to his right side, looking for the boy (because that was a male voice), but he didn't see anybody there.

"Percy?", asked Thalia worried and he looked at her with wide eyes.

"Ah… sorry… what were you saying?", asked the son of Poseidon slowly blinking a few times. He had imagined that voice… it was impossible that someone could speak in his mind. Well, if it wasn't a god, but the gods hated him so he assumed that he was just tired.

"Lady Artemis said that she's going on a hunt and we, including the huntresses, are going to Camp Half-Blood with her brother", explained the daughter of Zeus annoyed and with a dark tone. She really didn't like the fact that the Huntresses were going with them.

"Ah…", was the only response that popped into Percy's mind. Yes, he was pretty tired.

After a while, a Maserati Spider went down on to the snow with all it's brightness. And then a handsome man with 100-watt smile got out of the car.

"Hey sis! How are you?" he asked approaching Artemis, who was a little annoyed because of the "sis".

"Girls… and boy", she said glaring at Percy. "Meet my brother Apollo", sighed the goddess looking to the handsome man in front of her.

And then, after a little discussion between the two twins, everyone went in the yellow school bus, which Apollo had transformed his Maserati Spider into.

But before Percy had the chance to enter the bus, a spark of light caught his attention. He turned around and saw a pair of black sun glasses on the ground. Strange, I didn't saw them before, but before he could something the voice of Thalia shook him from his thought.

"Hey, seaweed brain! Come on, get in the car!", she yelled from inside, and Percy had just to comply.

After the bus disappeared into the blue sky and Artemis began her hunt, the sound of footsteps was heard in the woods.

A boy probably around sixteen years appeared out of nowhere with a dark grin on his face. He was pale and tall, with curly black hair and dark coat that was so long, it reached his feet.

The boy picked up the sunglasses and he put them on his nose, hiding his black and mischievous eyes.

"This is going to be fun…", he laughed huskily and stared at the sky right where the bus disappeared not so long before. Then he smirked and stepped into the shadow of a tree and, like he arrived, he disappeared in the darkness.
