My Father,
As I watch you save my life,
Destroying the evil man that destroyed your spirit,
I feel fear.
Fear that I will lose you to my worst enemy,
Death.
And I feel your pain.
Your physical pain,
From having deadly lightning shot into your old weak body,
And your emotional pain,
Your pain of realizing that you were wrong.
Your pain of understanding what you have done,
And realizing that you can't undo it.
And I know that you are sorry,
Yet you cannot make up for it.
And whether you live or die,
You will always feel that pain,
Like a dagger to your heart.
And I will always feel that pain too,
For you are my father.
And I love you.
But as you collapse to the ground,
I know I'm going to lose you,
To death.
I fight the tears that want to come,
Trying to look brave.
But as I look down upon you,
I see you breathe your last breath,
I see the life drain from your body.
And as I watch you die before me,
I know that I will always remember you.
