History

They had a long history, and it lead somewhere.

Enemies in first year, only because they took what their families aid to heart. The blond despised the redhead and she stared down his grey eyes with her flashing blue ones.

Grudging acquaintances in the second year, they had matured enough to understand that fighting would get them nowhere. The blond still avoided the redhead, but she didn't shoot him as many death glares as before.

Academic rivals, swotting every single minute of every single day to outdo the other was what they were in the third year. The other person's failures were met with a satisfied smirk, their own, with a determined grimace. The blond would acknowledge the redhead with a tiny nod. She would smile vaguely with her serious blue eyes.

His best friend fell for her best friend in fourth year. She was livid, he was disgusted. Their friends didn't care. The blond had to spend time with the redhead if he didn't want to die of boredom. She agreed to a friendly truce, meeting his sharp grey gaze with her warm blue one.

They grew slightly closer in fifth year. Almost best friends. They helped each other with the OWLs. The blond smiled at the redhead and she laughed at him with her blue eyes.

Their friends broke up and created a huge spectacle in sixth year. Yet, the blond didn't want to give up his friendship with the redhead. She admitted that she'd miss their intellectual battles and their friendly banter. His grey eyes returned the smile in her large blue eyes.

As Head Boy and Head Girl, their friendship grew and their trust in one another was cemented. The blond fell for the redhead, and her fiery spirit and her beautiful eyes. She fell for his classy sarcasm and infuriating smirk. They didn't bother hiding their feelings, because they knew that their long history had led right up to that point. They were in love!

And then after a long, loving courtship, after having convinced their families of their choice, he proposed to her and she tearfully accepted. The blond finally had the redhead as his own. Her blue eyes welled up with tears of joy as she saw his love for her in his steel grey eyes.

The world was, in their opinion perfect!

Their history had been long, and complicated, from enemies, to friends, to lovers and soon to husband and wife, it had been a long, loving, interesting and colourful journey… history leads up to strange things… they would know!

Author's Note: Not that good, I know. I liked how it started, but then it got all weird and I had to end it the way I did…

What did you think of History? It wasn't too terrible, was it? I'd like to know.
