Ace Reporter
AN: This story is written from Todd's perspective.
I had originally hired Kelly as a way to stick it to Blair, but I had quickly learned that Kelly was irreplaceable. Kelly was my right hand, my number one, and I had grown to rely on her far more than I ever wanted too. It was Kelly who brought the truth to my tabloid paper and now we were competing with the "New York Times." and my paper had actually become respectable.
I stood outside our burnt down office building sifting through the rubble hoping that Kelly had listened to me and gone home. I was worried about her, I had called her but there was no answer and my mind drifted to the worst case scenario. Kelly liked to work through the night, if she was there when the building had caught on fire was she scared, did she feel all alone? Somehow in the last year Kelly had grown on me and now I couldn't imagine my life without her.
I heard the sound of a camera clicking and turned around to see Kelly taking pictures of the wreckage.
"Kelly, you're alive," I said and I rushed to her side and embraced her.
"Of course I'm alive."
"I thought that you had been in the building."
"You told me to go home, remember?" Kelly whispered.
"Since when have you ever listened to me?" I asked as I let go of her.
"You were right; I was tired so I thought I would go home early."
"Thank god you're okay, cause I need you to write a story about the explosion.
"I'm already working on it boss."
"Of course you are. You are my Ace Reporter after all," I stated as I breathed a sigh of relief.
