Someone was pounding on his door. Someone was pounding on his door and he had just fallen into bed after a long day and Sokka just wanted to sleep. But it sounded like whoever it was was about to pound his door in, so he forced himself to get up to answer it.
"Sokka?" Toph looked up at him, one hand clutching her stomach, tears in her eyes. Something was very bad. He led her inside and sat her down on his couch.
"Are you okay? What's wrong?" Sokka had never seen her like this before. Not Toph, who was always so strong. She took a shaky breath.
"I need your help." She said simply. That scared him more than anything else. She never asked him for help, never asked anyone for help.
"Anything, Toph. Whatever you need, I'm here."
"I'm pregnant." She paused for a moment, letting that sink in. He took a breath and leaned back into his chair. Wow. He grinned, but it quickly faded. Something wasn't adding up.
"Then I don't understand. Isn't pregnancy supposed to be a happy thing? What's wrong?" Toph wouldn't meet his eyes anymore. He wanted to touch her, to hold her, but he felt like it would just make her mad.
"I don't really know who the father is. He drugged me. I was at a bar, I got a headache, and then I woke up in a strange bed, naked and alone." The tears were streaming down her face now and he was furious. How dare someone do this to her! How dare someone abuse her like that, take away her free will! Sokka knew if they ever found the bastard he wouldn't live to tell the tale.
"I said I would do anything to help and I meant it. You can even stay here for now if you want. Just tell me what to do and I'll do it." He swore. Toph picked her head up a little, a shadow of her usual grin on her face.
"Thanks, Sokka. I knew I came to the right person."
