Hello again!!! I have finally written my second 'Enterprise' fi! (In between a Book report for English, 40 Note Cards due for my research paper, and seeing Moulin Rouge!!! (YAY!!! EWAN McGREGOR ROCKS!!!) (Though Harrison Ford is still a tiny bit higher...) ANYWAY!!! For the icky legal stuff once again... I don't own 'Enterprise'... I don't own the Characters... And I don't own the actors... I don't even KNOW the actors... Though I did see Anthony Montgomery and Jolene Blalock on 'Jag' (different episodes though...)... and Scott Bakula on 'Quantum Leap' (duh....) John Billingsley on those 'stop smoking' commercials they've been showing...(they're pretty cool...) And Dominic Keating on 'Jungle 2 Jungle' ("Find out where the Rain Forest is!!!" I was sooooo happy when I saw he was on that... ^_^ Major smiles!!!) Whoa... this is getting long... so in short... DON'T SUE!!! Oh! "Itadakimasu" is the traditional Japanese way of starting a meal, and "Yoink" (Yes, "Yoink") is what you say when you take something from someone when they aren't paying attention. Thank you... (Enjoy!!!)

"Hoshi? Are you sure about this?" Lt. Malcolm Reed asked, his voice shinning slightly.
"Sir, you were the one to ask me, not the other way around." Hoshi said with a twinkle in her eye.
"I know I asked to learn a bit about the Japanese Language, but this is ridiculous!"
"Learning culture s a key element to learning language. Using chopsticks is a normal part of Japanese life. Any three year old child can use them. I don't see why you can't try." Hoshi gave him a half annoyed look that seemed to say "Oh come on!" Sighing with a look of defeat on his face, gingerly picked up the bamboo chopsticks.
It had only been a few weeks before when Lt. Reed had asked Hoshi if she would teach him Japanese. He always had a small liking for languages. Now with a very pretty communications officer, he had a renewed interest. They sat at a small table in the mess hall with a dinner of spaghetti and vegetables in front of both officers.
Hoshi grabbed her own and began to pick up the broccoli and carrots on her plate. She tried not to laugh as she watched Reed fiddle with his own utensils and drop them numerous times.
"Sir. Grab one of them, and hold it like a pencil on your middle finger and underneath you thumb. Reed clumsily followed her directions. "Grab the other and hold it with you index finger and thumb. Reed grabbed the second chopstick with his left hand and placed it above the other in his right.
"There!" she said. "Try that." Reed slowly moved the sticks towards his own plate. Carefully, he put the chopsticks around a piece of broccoli and lifted it into the air.
"Oy! Look at that!" Reed gave a triumphant grin.
"Good!" She congratulated him, seconds before the vegetable fell back to his plate with his grin. Soy sauce splashed everywhere. "Oh, don't worry. It takes practice." She reassured him.
After a hundred more times and about a dozen napkins, he finally kept his broccoli in the air. Concentrating hard on keeping it there, he didn't notice Hoshi grab the broccoli from his chopsticks.
"Yoink!" She said with a grin.
"Hey! What was that for?! I finally got it!"
"Twice in a row first." She said.
He breathed out heavily and grabbed for a carrot this time. Sure enough, it stayed there.
"Ha!" He laughed holding his hand in front of his carrot. You're not getting this one!" Bringing his treasure to his mouth, he said, "Cheers!"
"What have I been teaching you the last few weeks?"
Reed searched his mind before recognition fell on him.
"Itadakimasu!" He said with a grin.
"Itadakimasu. Let's eat!" And with that, the two started their cultural meal
